This hidden Gem is located in a dark alley of Assi Road, Varanasi. And they serve one of the Best Confectionery items in Varanasi. Their menu items, bakery items all are good in taste. They change every day or every week their Bakery items. It depends on the check, who is responsible for baking.
Now, come to the price to quality and prince to quantity ratio. Price to quality is really good here, but still I've some suggestions to make. In their international menu (which is pretty Asian), they should make things from scratch. Like for Thai Green curry, they used ready made paste, they should've try to make that curry paste in that kitchen. Also, in Nasi Goreng (Malaysian fried rice) they don't know about Sambal. They should increase their knowledge about those dishes.
And, price to quantity ratio, is pretty bad. And worse in case of Desserts. I want them to make it in a more reasonable price.
I'm giving 5 star, just for their behavior taste and ambience. The ambiance of the rooftop resturant is realy good and cozy. You'll feel very comfortable there.
Now, come to the dishes. I ordered Thai Green curry, which was good in taste. But should've been better if made from scratch. Also I order, Mie Goreng (nice and spicy, but not authentic), and Pad See Ew (this one taste different than other rice Noddles, one can try this).
And for dessert. Mango Triffle, which is by far the best dessert I tried in Varanasi. But it's a little expensive. But the freshness and sweetness has perfect harmony in it. Also, Rasmalai Cup, which is rasmalai as a jar cake. And Strawberry pudding, they used real strawberries to make that, and it was refreshing.
They have a special Dessert, which is Chia Pudding. A pudding made with some churma, mango/banana/chocolate and with Chia seeds. If you want that then order one day before. Now chia seeds have really mild flavor, so it's upto your taste. (But can try for new experience). They also gave me a croissant from the house. Which was baked...
Read moreAway from the hustle bustle of the Ganga ghats and those streets of Banaras, Cafe Terracotta is located a walking distance from Assi Ghat/pizzeria cafe.
Owned and run by Math (a dedicated and passionate guy from Australia), is working towards some deep rooted causes and have brilliant artistic and business sense too. He was very warm and calm in welcoming and was kind enough to give some insights too.
Atmosphere, location: This whole cafe is totally plastic free, like totally. The cafe is G+2. At ground floor there is a bakery kitchen and sitting area, well lit and ventilated. An amazing curved shape wall painted with sea waves and a surfer will guide your way to the first floor where you are guided to remove your shoes and walls on both sides will tell you stories of people who have visited this place and left their mark by writing their names on the bricks of wall around.
There you are, on the main cafe area which has wooden tables, no high rise chairs. You can sit on the ground which is covered with soft cushion. And dream catchers will channelize all your energies. On your right you can see a well which is used to shift the orders from first to ground floor. Graffiti walls will hold your all attention and cleanliness will blow your mind. And then there is an open gallery with his little grown garden where roofs are covered with grape vines, guava trees and money plants.
You might also get to meet his Dog named Kalu.
Very calm and relaxing place to visit.
A must visit place in Varanasi.
I tried their hot chocolate, and was damn...
Read moreI tried this place once before and the food was just okay, so I decided to give it another chance. Unfortunately, it was even more disappointing the second time. The nachos menu mentioned salsa sauce and sour cream, but instead they only added a few onions and tomatoes. No sour cream at all, and the sauce they used tasted like a cheap, preservative-heavy packet you’d get from a supermarket.
The burger was another letdown — oversized and poorly balanced. Despite specifically asking them not to add mozzarella, they went ahead and did it anyway. Overall, the food is not worth the money. What’s written on the menu is not what you actually get. Very poor quality and misleading — I would not recommend this place.
Edit (Reply to your answer)
No, I was not informed in prior about the sour cream while I was ordering) I was informed about it after you delivered the order. You should have informed in prior.
I had asked for extra cheese, but clearly mentioned not to use Mozzarella cheese in the comments, please try reading the order comments before you prepare the order.
I really doubt about the fresh-in-house idea, as it wasn’t fresh.
If you are so much worried about the customer, make sure you rectify the order after the customers complaints, not after the customer...
