Varanasi is an experience and this is a place one shouldn't miss if they want to experience the divine city through paintings. Smt. Ruchika ji's niche is paintings focused mostly on the holy ghats of Benaras, the various facets of the Sankat Mochan Hanuman and Vishwanath. She captures the timeless city in her painting and explains it like a tour guide. She looks very religious and her art gallery offer another divine experience in Benaras.
We bought a painting of Meer Ghat which came with a small write up on what we can infer from the painting. I loved the paintings of Veera Hanuman and they look more powerful than the angry Hanuman posters stuck on vehicles. She charges for the painting material and it was reasonably priced.
When we visited her, she was taking an online class. She conducts small 2-hour workshops too. That is something one can explore. Her house/art gallery is very close to BHU. I feel student bodies of IIT/IMS BHU should think of organizing regular workshops or open elective courses from her. Benaras is incomplete without BHU, and I would like her to add BHU and Madana Mohana Malaviya to her art repertoire. I would highly recommend BHU students to visit the art gallery if they would like to take home an art souvenir of the holy city they were blessed...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDuring my recent spiritual visit to Varanasi, I had planned to visit Ruchikaās art gallery on my sisterās recommendation. I have one of our beautiful Shiva paintings on my wall but wanted to meet her personally. I instantly connected with Ruchika and her artwork . As soon as I stepped in her artwork made me feel at peace and I was able to disconnect from the hustle bustle of the city. I wasnāt 100% sure of what I wanted to take back to London but knew deep in my heart that I wanted to take back Varanasi with me. While looking around the room and flipping through canvases my eyes were stuck on a black, white and red themed painting of a Ghat and Benaras depicted beautifully. That painting actually distracted me a lot and I was unable to concentrate on other paintings that Ruchika diligently explained to me. Miles away in a different country and continent I probably treasure one of her best paintings. She walked with me till the Sankat Mochan temple and during that walk we instantly connected as she explained her inspirations and me my journey towards spirituality. Good luck Ruchika. You are awesome. I recommend her gallery to everyone who is visiting Benaras from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am reposting my review as I was compelled by this lady to remove my post. I have been cheated badly by her and had the worst experience ever. According to her she doesn't take any orders for small work but the reality is she is not even capable of doing that. She had charged with the name of emergency 2000rs for a simple chart and promised me that she is going to make it creative but in turn she has made numerous spelling mistakes while writing which can't be ignored. I can say in every single word she had made mistakes and also written my matter with running handwriting with sketch pens. So kindly if you are visiting her place be careful for the amount she asks for her paintings because she is charging double triple amount better you can for other good galleries which are in Varanasi. One more thing she is such a rude lady having no attequetes to talk and she is thinking of creating customers.Madam with this attitude you can't do anything. So kindly be careful if you are visiting her place or getting things done by her else be ready to face the consequences I have faced.I will soon attach her work and something more with which you can...
