It was one of top 5 restaurants on Google, so one day we started for it on foot up the hill. The seat and the slope had made our hearts fearful within a 100 steps so we sought solace in a long tempo- which gives sense of speed by not the amount of distance covered but the Noise it makes and Vibrations it can generate. Though it has a horn, but I don’t think it can be heard over the din it makes. In Bhopal were I grew up, a similar contraption is known as Bhat Suar.
Anyway after snaking and shaking through 2 km we were informed by our driver that your GPS is wrong as it is taking us Inside Aloha. After checking the same on multiple phones I decided to walk to the security gate and check – Where Patio is and to a great relief I was told “Yep” it is a restaurant inside Aloha. So we stepped out of our cocoon and started a walk in the hills again in the sun, refused a golf cart as it is only for Residents, as if Patio was serving Langar. Anyway hunger pushed us to walk along a pathway to Patio. From then on the reception changed – Kajal an amazing Hostess. Hope she gets a promotion. Though the lunch time was over she requested / Kajoled (hehe remember the name) / threatened- not sure what she did but we did get a plate of Litti Chokha. The best I have had – remember I am not a Bihari so no abuses please (LOL). She told us 2 ways of having it and we chose the Indian one. Mash Litti in Ghee, add all the dips (minus one) in it and have it. This was done by my better half and it tasted heavenly – 5/5 With that we requested her thoughts on the drinks and we got 3 amazing ones – Orange Tarrangi, Summer Sangaria and Cucumber and Mint Spritzer. I do not like Cinamon which was there in Summer Sangaria so I gave it a miss – but the girls loved it so Drinks are 5/5. Then we had Palak chat – lip smacking – 4/5 Had a lovely Swiss Pav Bhajji. It is cheese in Pav Bhajji, with mini buns, however, buns were normal sized. But it was lovely. 4/5
Then with tea and Urad Dale ke pakode we finished our Lunch and Dinner. We generally do not like tea made by others, but the ginger tea was good and we...
Read moreOverpriced, inadequate quantity, and even worse quality. First of all, the washroom. They couldn't even have separate ones for males and females. Then the food, the pizzas were literal cardboard. Yes, thin crust was expected, but it was literally as thick as a piece of paper. Zero cheese. I would rather eat a plain tandoori roti without sabzi or dal than this. Then the aglio e olio pasta were horrible. Literally tasteless. Just uncooked pasta and seasoning dumped in. Even the french fries were leftovers and burnt! They couldn't serve north Indian food after 3pm, but other customers weren't eating much of it either and leaving plates half empty. The only thing which were decent enough to be labeled as 'food' were the pavbhaji which came in ok-ish quantity for two and chaat. Overall,...
Read moreWe had an amazing experience with The Patio - Aloha on the Ganges. Food were delicious and staff was super courteous. Live performance by an artist was equally mesmerising. They offer costal food for each place that is being covered by Maa Ganges. We were hosted by Kanika. Me and my wife were in awe seeing her behaviour and support throughout. She ensured we did not order crazily at the same time she made sure we take enough. We ordered mustard Paneer tikka, Choola food from Himalayan, Gajar ka halwa. It was original in taste and best part is such quality food at reasonable price. A pocket friendly restaurant with 100% quality. Once again sincere thanks to Kanika and others for...
