Arsalan Restaurant & Caterer - Sodepur Dhankol Roundabout — Restaurant in West Bengal

Today we visited Arsalan on BT Road, Sodepur for dinner. Compared to other days, today’s experience was quite disappointing. Firstly, there was no menu card on the table when we arrived. Even after repeatedly asking the staff, no one came for almost 10 minutes. Eventually, we had to take a menu card from another table ourselves. Then, when we called someone to place our order, they took a long time to respond. They said the food would arrive in 2 minutes, but it actually came after 15 minutes.

Now coming to the second issue—this outlet is severely understaffed compared to the number of customers. With just two people trying to manage everything, it’s clearly not working. If you can’t handle the crowd properly, hire more staff. Don’t waste people’s time like this.

Now about the food—considering how much you’ve raised the prices of all your items, we didn’t see any improvement in quality. We ordered your so-called famous special mutton biryani today, and it was nowhere near what it used to be. Extremely oily, the mutton piece was mostly fat, and the portion of rice was very small. If someone shares it with a 5-year-old child, then maybe an adult’s stomach would be full.

You increased the price from ₹525 to ₹550 recently, which was still acceptable. But now when you’re charging over ₹700, you should at least try to maintain the standards. A ₹700 biryani comes without even a salad—are you kidding us? There are much better restaurants in Sodepur now that offer better food and service.

And since the staff is so limited, even when we asked for the bill, they kept us waiting for 25 minutes. Don’t you value your customers’ time? I never expected this from Arsalan. Such a beloved restaurant, now completely cheating people. I will never visit...

This is about my lastest experience at Arsalan Dhankol branch. I have been there already twice and took food delivery multiple time. My experience till date was quite good. Yesterday I visited this branch with my family. It was the evening of Eid-ul-Fitr and the restaurant was quite occupied. We had ordered Chicken achari kebab, mutton boti kabab and paneer tikka in starter. Paneer was quite tasty, achari tikka was ok-ok. Mutton boti kebab was a disaster. It was hard, most probably half cooked and tasteless. I tried to eat one piece of the Kebab but it was so hard that it got stuck inside my throat. I had to vomit it out.

Now speaking about the main course, we had Mutton special Biriyani along with children tikka butter masala, butter naan, garlic naan, paneer butter masala, chicken chaap.Biriyani was quite tasty, so was the paneer butter masala. Chicken chaap was ok. But the naans which were served , was not that fresh. It was quite hard.

Now regarding the service time, it was a busy day for them and I think they were running with less employees. So the delivery time was a bit more than the usual. I complained about the mutton boti kebab to the service manager and he agreed to that. He did not include the item inside the bill. One more thing, they included mineral water inside the main bill and GST was charged on that amount. I am not sure if a restaurant can charge GST on packaged drinking water(it should be the MRP).

Last 27.05.2024 I ordered over phone to Sodepur ARSALAN branch for home delivery. Item was : 2 Mutton Biriyani,1 Mutton Chaap,1 Chicken Malai Kabab,1 Butter Nun, 1 Chichen Reshmi butter Masala Bill Amount: Rs 1930/- and the Delivery address is near to Baranagar(Kutighat)

I ordered on 8.45pm and over the call order taking executive assure me that my order will get delivered with 10.15pm but the same was delivered on 11.30pm approx!! Now please think is it a time to take a dinner with kids! Although I understand the same after the delivery boys explanation that due to high demand the same is happened But After having all the food, very much disappointed for the taste of Mutton Biriyani and Mutton Chaap. A bad smell was from the mutton and the mutton was not boiled as well, The Rice quality of the biriyani is ridiculous, even it's not feeling like a biriyani and the Mutton Chaap was just tasteless!

From the next the morning feeling vomiting and the health is not as well for all the person who eat the food in last night!!

I frequently visited Sodepur ARSALAN branch and my previous experience was very much satisfying and also the Biriyani quality is Awesome and I also recommend several person to just taste the Biriyani of Sodepur ARSALAN branch but this time very much disappointed with food quality of...
