Mitra Cafe, located in New Digha, is a well-known eatery that has been serving delicious food for years. Having recently dined at Mitra Cafe, I would like to share my review based on the overall experience.
The ambiance of Mitra Cafe is relaxed and casual, providing a comfortable setting for diners. The restaurant is known for its beachside location, offering a scenic view of the sea while enjoying your meal. The outdoor seating area is particularly popular, allowing guests to soak in the refreshing sea breeze and enjoy the calming atmosphere.
The menu at Mitra Cafe features a variety of dishes, with a focus on seafood. From fresh catches of the day to flavorful preparations, there are options to satisfy seafood enthusiasts. The dishes are prepared with care and expertise, highlighting the natural flavors of the ingredients. The seafood is typically cooked to perfection, ensuring a delightful and succulent taste experience.
Apart from seafood, Mitra Cafe also offers a range of vegetarian and non-seafood options. The menu includes appetizers, soups, vegetarian dishes, and chicken preparations, catering to different tastes and preferences. The vegetarian dishes are flavorful and well-prepared, providing a satisfying alternative for those who don't consume seafood.
The service at Mitra Cafe is attentive and efficient, with staff members taking orders promptly and serving food with a smile. They are knowledgeable about the menu and are happy to make recommendations based on individual preferences. The staff's warm and friendly approach contributes to a pleasant dining experience.
In terms of pricing, Mitra Cafe offers reasonable rates for their dishes. The prices are in line with similar establishments in the area, considering the quality and portion sizes. It's worth noting that the prices may vary depending on the type of seafood chosen and the market rates.
One aspect that could be improved is the waiting time during peak hours. As Mitra Cafe is a popular spot among locals and tourists, it can get quite busy, resulting in longer wait times for a table. However, the delicious food and the breathtaking view make it worth the wait.
Overall, Mitra Cafe in New Digha provides a delightful dining experience, especially for seafood lovers. With its beachside location, delectable seafood dishes, and friendly service, it is a go-to destination for those looking to enjoy a memorable meal by the sea. If you're visiting New Digha and have a craving for fresh seafood, Mitra Cafe is definitely worth a visit.

Read moreWe heard quite great reviews of Mitra Cafe,so we went there for lunch, but we were extremely disappointed! So we went to digha on 4th of June and went to have lunch at mitra cafe. There was quite a bit of queue so we had to wait for sometimes. The ambience and the location of the restaurant is really beautiful! It is right beside the sea beach and so you can definitely enjoy the beach and its scenic beauty. Now coming to the food, after waiting for sometimes, we finally got a table around 3PM. There were lots of item in the menu, but half of it was not available! So we ordered 7 veg thalis and 3 plates of whole vetki curry, which we shared. Now about the thali, the rice was really really poor quality! It was sticky,it was gross,it had no taste whatsoever! Also they gave complimentary alu bhaja with every thali, but it was completely non-eatable, as it wasn't cooked properly. So after complaining about that, they changed the alu bhajas and gave us jhuri alu bhaja. Also there wasn't sufficient food items in the veg thali,if you are pure veg,it's not enough for you to eat the whole plate of rice. Also let's not talk about that the other items were also quite tasteless. The only good things about the thali were the chatni, papad and misti doi. Now coming to the fish. We had high hopes about the vetki curry as mitra cafe is well renowned for their fish items. But we were disappointed there also! The fishes were not at all fresh,it was fried sooo many times that it went completely hard and became absolutely tasteless. And on top of that, they charged Rs. 290 for per plate of fish, and to be honest, in that price you can literally buy better vetki from any local fish market here in kolkata and they taste far far better than that! So overall, if you wanna opt for evening snacks, then I think you can go here, but if you want to have lunch,I think it's better to go for those humble restaurants at the sea side. The only saving grace of this place was its ambience and location, and I'm giving it two stars just...
Read moreOn the last day of our Digha visit, we thought of having our Sunday lunch at this place, our confidence coming from the reputation of this food chain back in Kolkata. That is where it all literally started going downhill. After getting our seats in queue, we decided to take thalis(Chicken/Fish). The waiter seemed to have no idea about the contents, giving wrong information which led us to order extra fries which were already included in the thali 🤦🏻♂️ Anyway, they took considerable amount of time to serve the thalis. The food was nowhere near the quality demanded both by the price charged or the reputation of their brand. Moreover, one of our Dal bowls had a mosquito floating! Moving ahead, my fish thali was not served with the paan, so we asked for it. But the way it was served(image attached), with the leaf all open, it was very disheartening. The staff didn't have the slightest regret for their continuous mistakes, with their apathy being clearly ironical. One point to be noted here was no extra rice/item could be asked for, it had to be bought seperately, which kind of defeats the idea of a thali! Nothing much to write about the ambience as well, the washrooms were dirty and badly maintained to say the least. Sadly, I guess this is going to be my first 1 star rating, that too for a Bengali restaurant 😕. In conclusion, please stay away from this place as I feel this place lacks the basic context of hospitality and is only getting the reputation of the...
