Absolutely appalling experience at Mukherjee's Restaurant ! Mark the date please 14-07-2024. I was in for lunch with 9 members ( including me) out of which 5 members are aged over 70yrs . We were kept waited on the long waiting lounge for over 1 hour 30 minutes to get a table, that too were arranged when we approached quite a several times for adjustment with 8 seaters only. !! I enrolled my name in the 3rd position only in the long waiting que. We literally pleaded them - split it in four and five seating accomodation but please allot the tables atleast ! Never even imagined that we have to go through this terrible experience ! One of the co-ordinator though tried to manage only one big table for us, claned and sweeped at the earliest but it ultimately went in vein ! Courtesy goes to the in room manager Pabitra Majumder and one of the staffs Mr. Jahangir Mir ! We have visited many a restaurants in serampore earlier too, namely Samrat, Hangla, Kitchen 27, the Park, Danish Tavern, Mitra Cafe etc...but never faced this kind of attitude from the service staffs. Their behaviour can bring nightmere to you. Especially Jahangir Mir. They are least communicative and least bothered with the age of the clients, waiting time and patience for the clients, service quality to the clients.

One of my aunt (aged 70 )faced a seating problem ...as after sometime - she felt that something from the sofa cushion is appearing and creating a rukus in her back and when trying to find, it's just disappearing. First instance - she ignored - on the second instance she took it lightly ..but on the third instance when she complained that something is there inside the sofa cushion - the service staff Jahangir Mir laughed sarcastically ! Instead of finding quickly what probably may cause a problem. !! Just image, after waiting for over 1 HR 30 mins, when you finally get to sit in sofa - u r being welcomed by bed bugs !! Please image the maintenance of that room !

It was only a Sunday - without any occasion! No special days ! Not a red mark day. ! The so called management is failed to accomodate at one go for the incoming 40-50 clients only out of which over 15 clients were only waiting for take away service ! Don't get fooled by the well decorated long air conditioned waiting lounge ! Believe me - This is unnecessary. The management could have used this place for more sitting arrangement instead of keeping clients waited for so long.

We visited this place as our many friends and foes provided good vibes on this. But the overall fooding and servicing experince was just aweful. !

You can easily feel the shortage of service staffs over there. Those who are working - are too slow to service. Very pathetic inside !. And when your in room service is not just takable, you are bound to miss the good ambience too ... You will surely in doubt what to call mr. Pabitra Majumder !! A inroom manager or a real damager ! He didn't even feel sorry for the entire waiting time - rash behaviours - sarcastic smiles from his staffs !!

Food quality is normal - price is not so high but not reasonable too.

Last but not the least - there is a clear gap of good management - good behaving staffs which actually surpass the quality of foods ! Request to the owner - please make your manager and service staff humble 🙏 - take them to the other restaurants please - they are badly in need of...

45 years of experience in Catering Business and that completely shows in their restaurant. They’ve put together everything so nicely that they’ve created a class apart experience for their guests.

Superior fine dining experience, by fine dine they leave up to the expectations for the beautiful ambiance, polite service and excellent food. We ordered all of their special and best seller dishes.

Golden Fried Fish Vetki @ Rs.249 (5/5) This is the best authentic Fish Fry I've ever tried. By authentic I mean just the super fresh desi Vetki fish inside the thin crispy golden fried coating and no-nonsense stuffing. It tasted heavenly good and special mention goes to the quality of fish that they’ve used, it’s almost impossible to find at any class of restaurant.

They served it with ketchup and their home made Kasundi but I didn’t like it much. It’s a bit pricey but okay once in a while.

Murgh Makhani @ Rs.280 (2/5) I don't know why this dish was so much highlighted on their menu card as their special dish with a big description. So, I ordered it but got disappointed, it tasted like a very regular chicken dish. I’ve tasted far better butter chicken before. We tried it with Butter Naan, but I’ll say avoid this.

Mutton Biryani @ Rs.290 (5/5) Unlike Murgh Makhani their Biryani isn't much highlighted as a special item on their menu, but you'll see everyone ordering Biryani. So, we did the same and it was surprisingly amazing. I must say one of the best even compared to big Kolkata Biryani restaurants.

The mutton piece was super fresh, perfectly cooked, and the rice was so flavourful. The potato was amazingly soft. You just can’t miss their Biryani.

Kesar Pista Firni @ Rs.90 (5/5) It's also their special item and a must order here. Super fresh and perfectly soft, so many flavours with dry fruits and a brilliant dessert overall.

Conclusion This is the best restaurant in Shrirampur and they can easily beat any fine dining restaurant in Kolkata. Their beautiful ambiance, quality service, brilliant food and reasonable pricing makes them a must visit...

It was my first visit to the restaurant and I had high expectations. However, I found the restaurant an average place, contradictory with the excellent reviews I had seen from YouTubers. I called the restaurant to book but they won’t make a pre-booking, hence on arriving at the place I had to wait for 15 mins. Then I was informed when table was allocated that they have run out of Biriyani, Lassi, and few other starter items, which was very disappointing. The ambience is an open seating and AC was not effective. As the restaurant had decent number of guests, the dining space was smelling of food all around.

Next, I found the food overpriced for a restaurant with average seating space, an ambience where you’ll have lot of noise and smell all around. Vetki fish fry for 255 Rs, Chicken Tikka Masala for 360 Rs etc. The taste of food was good, but didn’t understand the basis of hyped reviews from senior food bloggers on condiments (like Kasundi) served with fish fry. I found it to be average, have eaten much better varieties than what is served here. The signature dessert Kesar Pista Firni was average again, it was very thick probably due to higher quantity of rice flour. I have eaten better firni at other restaurants. This is also a hyped dish by food bloggers reviews.

I found the staff to be polite but didn’t find them to be interacting much with guests. The same cabinet top was used by staff for collection of used plates and as station for service of food when it arrives from the kitchen. Toilet and Wash basin are okay but no hand drying facility or tissues are available until you ask for it. So I had to come out with wet hands from the toilet.

Overall, I found the restaurant is hyped by reviews from YouTubers and food bloggers. It is overpriced too for a place like Sreerampur, but good reviews can be provided if someone doesn’t need to pay for their food. You will find better value for money alternatives. For an average food, ambience, and service, I spent approx 650 R/s per person. At the very end a 250ml takeaway container for leftovers costed 10 R/s.

Well it was a warm spring afternoon, we decided to go here, in search of some quality time & good food.. On entering, it gave a vide of the old Kolkata, with pictures of various famous places of Kolkata adorning it's wall. From lighting to decor this place is a sumptuous celebration of the city of joy. We went there at around 5:30 pm, we were informed that the " Kebabs & Biriyani would be available from 7:00 - 7:30 pm", on hearing in the begining we were a bit heart broken 💔.. So we Ordered: 1. Golden Fish Fry (Bhetki) - It was very nice it celebrated the ecence of Bengali Fish Fry, with a perfect and adequate proportion of vehtki and the coating with a beautiful crisp to it. The portion was adequate. 2. Cream of Chicken Soup: It was Creamy, tastey.. with some bits of chicken ... It was nice but made me long for a few more bits of chicken.. 3. Coffee: It's was nice but 80 Rs was the price so it hurt a bit.. But as Whole the experience was Nice which forced me to Come Again on the same Day at around 7:30 pm when we Ordered: 4. Mutton Biryani: Well it was fingerlicking good, & became of my favourite biriyani place at par with dada boudi biriyani Barrackpore, Arsalan, & Oudh 1950, the Size of Mutton Piece was sufficient, but the texture was awesome, mutton was slipping off the bone..❤️❤️ the Aloo and Rice was cooked to perfection.. but I missed The Egg 🥺🥲🥹 5. Chicken Afghani tengri kebab: It was quite nice and juicy, we ordered 1/2 plate, after completing, which I repented for not ordering the full plate of 4 peices. 6. Roomali Rooti & Mutton Keema Curry: Mutton Keema Curry also full filled the expectation, and the portion was adequate for two in company of roomali Rooti, but this time my tummy was full and my heart was content. To sum it up it is a great place for biriyani lover, foodies, with a nice budget friendly touch..❤❤ A must visit place if you are around shreerampur..
