Had ordered hakka noodles and a soup around 9.30pm through Zomato. Restaurant accepted the order and food was supposed to be delivered in 45 mins. Around 10.15 the status was 'Food us being prepared '. I called the Zomato valet he replied the stock of noodles was over and its taking some time to boil fresh batch of noodles and then prepare. I immediately called the restaurant , a lady manager picked up and assured me that food is getting prepared and she will follow up on the delay caused with restaurant kitchen and update me by calling back. Since she never called back I called back around 10.30 pm and lady mabager apologized stating noodles was over and the fresh batch took time to get boiled and further delayed the food preparation. As the status in Zomato app was shown 'Food is prepared' around 10.40pm I called back the restaurant and spoke to Mr Prakash Thakur. Firstly he was unaware of the cause of delay, upon telling him the reason he was unapologetic and rudely replied to me asking to cancel the order. At around 10.45 pm when most if the restaurants in area has stopped taking orders through Zomato or Swiggy, I was being told by restaurant manager to cancel this order.
Beware of ordering food from Hangla in future. The restaurant blindly accepts orders without taking count of their food stock. There is no coordination between kitchen staff and managers answering calls of customers. They employ people like Prakash thakur who are unapologetic and don't know how to behave with customers. The restaurant shrugs off the responsibility and commitment of delivering food on time and charges back customers , asking to cancel the food order when most of the other restaurants are already closed. Read moreAmbience: Hangla is a multi-cuisine restaurant located at N. S. Avenue, Serampur. It is famous for its egg rolls and rumali rolls. We have tried the rolls more than once, and to be honest, it gives the big restaurants of Kolkata a run for their money! But we never tried wholesome meal there. Last month, on the eve of republic day, we did visit the eatery and it was an exhilarating experience indeed.
Food: As I am quite obsessed with Chinese cuisine, I asked for mixed gravy noodles. My wife, Tanaya, ordered chicken biryani and Garlic Chicken. We also asked for masala Thumps Up as liquid refreshments. The mixed noodles was really very tasty. It was rich in shrimps, grated chicken and vegetables. It is my favourite Chinese dish, and their preparation only intensified my love for it. The chicken biryani was like the regular biryani we make at home. Thankfully, it was not overpowered with artificial flavors. The garlic chicken went well with it. The masala Thumps Up was a disappointment. It is better to have regular cold drinks from outside.
Service: The space is little poky. If you are looking for a family hangout, I am afraid, this restaurant is not ideal. However their service is quite satisfactory. They have decorated the dining space very nicely. The food was served within twenty minutes.
Recommendation: Hangla is quite ideal for evening snacks. The rolls they make is surely of top qualities. It is also ideal for couples for a lunch date. But surely a no-no for family hangout. Food quality is satisfactory, but nothing extraordinary. It is a pocket-friendly eatery. So if you are looking for a cost effective restaurant you can visit here.

Read moreMy recent visit to the restaurant left much to be desired. While the initial impression was positive, the overall experience fell short of expectations.
The service, unfortunately, was subpar, with slow and inattentive staff. It seemed like a struggle to get their attention, and once we did, the interaction lacked the warmth and courtesy one expects in a dining establishment. The disappointment extended to the menu as well. A significant number of dishes listed were unavailable, limiting our options and leaving us with a sense of unfulfilled anticipation. Moreover, the quality of the food was noticeably below par. It lacked the freshness one would expect, and some dishes seemed like they had been sitting for a while before being served.
To improve the dining experience, the restaurant could benefit from addressing these key areas. First and foremost, staff training is crucial. Ensuring that the team is attentive, friendly, and responsive to customer needs can significantly enhance the overall atmosphere. Regular menu updates to reflect available dishes would prevent customers from experiencing disappointment due to unavailability. In terms of food quality, a focus on sourcing fresh ingredients and maintaining high kitchen standards can elevate the dining experience. Regular checks on the freshness of ingredients and timely preparation of dishes would contribute to a more satisfying meal.In conclusion, while the restaurant has the potential to offer a positive dining experience, improvements in service, menu availability, and food quality are essential. A commitment to these changes could turn a disappointing visit into a memorable one for customers...
