Today lets talk about the place where you will get all the flavours and delicasy straight from the china town now in north kolkata. Shanghai - Flavors of china is a brand new place that opened their door just recently at dumdum, more specifically near nagerbazaar , opposite of dumdum municipalty building.
This brand new place is surely a much needed place as in dumdum area a very less options are avaialble where you will get the satisfactory food. Now coming to their interior - the interior was very similar to Haka which was combination of the color black and red. The neon lights with a chinese signs all over the wall was give you the perfect vibes of chinese restauarnt. This place is located at very congested area but the place was not small and can accomodate more than 60+ people at once. Moreover, they have a private dinning section as well for your small private gatherings, bussiness mettings and all.
Coming to their safety precations -
Moving to the main deal which is food ofcourse -
Tom Kha Soup (INR 175/-)- Tom kha soup is the same as the hot and sour soup but it has the coconut milk in it which made this white in color and give you some coconut flavor to it. It was rich, creamy and it has some tender chicken in it which was super delicious. A perfect start for the upcoming rollercoaster journey of food.
Chilli Pepper Garlic Chicken (INR 255/-) - if you are a truly spicy lover then it should be your perfect choice , cause the combonation of pepper and chilli made this dish super spicy and along with some garlic gives this dish a perfect boost of heat. take a glass of virgin mojito along with this chilli pepper garlic chicken will surely gives you the perfect balance of taste and flavor.
Pan Fried Noodles(INR 225/-) - It was not a regular Hakka pan fried noodle , it was specifically a cantonese pan fried noodle which was light in flavor , a bit healither and it comes with loads of veggies with white sauce and boiled chicken.
Sizzling browniee with vanilla icecream (INR 165/-)- It was the showstopper! i loved it alot.
Now from the starters to the main course , everything was absolutely lip smacking and the overall service was satisfactory too.I completely enjoy my visit and definently recommend this place to the people of dumdum and north kolkata.

I recently visited Shanghai - Flavours of China Town, hoping to enjoy a pleasant dining experience, but it turned out to be quite the opposite. Here are the main issues I encountered during my visit:
Delay in Service
From the moment we were seated, the service was incredibly slow. We had to wait an unusually long time for our orders to be taken. Despite the restaurant not being crowded, it took nearly 30 minutes for our appetizers to arrive. This unacceptable delay set a negative tone for the rest of the evening.
Unavailability of Food Items
One of the most frustrating aspects was the unavailability of several items listed on their menu. We specifically chose this restaurant based on the extensive menu advertised both on their app and on food delivery platforms like Zomato and Swiggy. However, when we attempted to order, we were informed that many of these items were not available. This inconsistency is highly misleading and disappointing for customers who rely on the menu to make their dining choices.
Inconvenient Early Closure
To add to the frustration, we were informed that the restaurant would be closing while we were still in the middle of our dinner. We arrived at 9:30 p.m., well within the advertised operating hours, which state that the restaurant closes at 11:00 p.m. Being rushed out before the official closing time is incredibly unprofessional and unfair. This premature closure not only disrupted our dining experience but also left us with a very negative impression of the establishment.
Overall Experience
My visit to Shanghai - Flavours of China Town was disappointing and frustrating. The combination of slow service, unavailability of menu items, and being hurried out of the restaurant well before the closing time made for an unpleasant evening. This is not the kind of experience one expects when dining out, especially at a place that promises a wide range of offerings and extended hours.
I hope the management takes these issues seriously and works towards improving their service standards. Until then, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a reliable and enjoyable...
