Today I tried the Park Brasserie in Park Hyatt. The restaurant oozes class in terms of ambiance, decor, lighting and furniture. It is divided into 3 sections and can easily seat about 100-120 customers. The art work in this restaurant is a very note worthy. The huge centre art work is very beautiful. It is made out of varied threads on spools . An amazing piece indeed. A happy entry sure is a great starter.
The staffs are extremely friendly and make you feel very welcome from the moment you are enter the restaurant. It was clear that they training clearly shown shining..We entered late at 2.45 pm in the afternoon and still most of the tables were busy with customers.
Food : I wanted to give a 4 or 5 star but a couple of spoilers stopped me . We ordered a Crumb Fried Prawns for starter. It was a true disappointment. What we got for a 1300 rupees dish was just 5 small sized crumb prawns on a huge bed of French fried. The prawns were rubbery and tasteless. I wonder how people cannot complain on this. If the prawns were medium or large size I would still call it a huge disappointment in terms of taste. The next was the main course. We ordered Spaghetti Bolognese, a special Club Sandwich and Malabar Fish Curry and Rice. The Spaghetti Bolognese was out standing !!! The Club Sandwitch was amazing but the Malabar Fish Curry was another huge disappointment and the accompanying plain Rice was under boiled and hard and making it more disappointing.
The kitchen staff must do a research and soul searching on Malabar Fish Curry because what they made was nothing resembling the original in colour, flavour, smell or taste. Cooking something just to fill up the menu card is not something which I expected from Park Brasserie BUT I must doff my hat to the kitchen staffs who made the Spaghetti Bolognese and Club Sandwitch. These two dishes were perfect !!!
The restaurant is one of the most expensive restaurant in the city and I expected every thing to my high expectations but only 50 percent of my orders met or crossed my expectations but the other half was a HUGE...
Read moreThe refreshed ambience is much brighter, creating a happier, more inviting space. What sets the dining experience apart is the well-curated à la carte menu, which complements the buffet. As someone who prefers table service over buffets, I appreciated this thoughtful approach. The mezze platter with fresh hummus and pita set the tone for the meal, followed by a refreshing three-tomato avocado salad drizzled with basil oil. My absolute favourite was the Wakame ramen miso noodle soup, boasting a perfectly subtle umami flavour. The Soufiayani paneer tikka and aloo mutter samosa offered a delightful transition with their mild flavours, paving the way for a standout dish: the 4-hour braised lamb shank with mashed potatoes. The lamb was tender, and the jus was a perfect complement. A touch of South Indian flavours arrived with the Malabar prawn curry and Idiyappam, a refreshing change of pace. The kimchi fried rice, with its perfect fermented flavours, exemplified what makes great kimchi. For dessert, the pannacotta stood out as one of the best I’ve ever tasted, with its mild sweetness and the delightful texture of vanilla seeds. The berry compote paired beautifully, enhancing the overall flavour profile. Of course, the Belgium double chocolate rich ganache cake, a signature favourite, was as...
Read moreI had visited park brasserie at the park hyatt to celebrate my dad s birthday. It was one of the worst decisions i ever made. My dad was left totally disappointed and my dads birthday dinner was left as a day best forgotten. We are vegetarians and there were very few options for vegetarians. The starters were horrible. We requested a couple of times stating the same and the servers had no interest in making any changes. The soup was cold. The maincourse lacked taste. I havnt had such a horrible experience ever in a star hotel. Moreover with the limited number of options available for vegetarians, lack of service by the team, lack of willingness to correct, it was a night to forget. I dont feel they even want to make the guests happy or have the empathy which a 5 star like...
