I had a recent experience at Roohé Restaurant that initially left me disappointed, but I must appreciate that after sharing my feedback, the management promptly refunded my money. That shows they genuinely care about customer satisfaction, and I respect that.
Mr. Abdul Basith Bukari, the Managing Director, is a well-known and responsible figure in society. I truly believe he has good intentions and a sincere commitment to quality. However, I feel there is a gap between that vision and the on-ground reality at the restaurant.
Something isn’t aligning right—maybe a lapse in staff coordination, quality control, or daily operations. The issue might not stem from him directly, but as the face of the brand, the responsibility unfortunately falls on him. That’s the burden of leadership.
I’m writing this not as criticism, but as a well-meaning suggestion. There’s potential in Roohé Restaurant, and I hope this feedback will be taken in the right spirit. I genuinely wish to see the place thrive and reflect the high standards that Mr. Bukari undoubtedly aspires to uphold.
With best wishes for improvement and success. — A well-wisher
Title: ❌ Not Real Mandi – Just "Freezer Mandi" Scam!
I visited this restaurant after seeing advertisements proudly claiming to serve “5 types of Mandi.” As someone who actually knows what authentic Mandi tastes like, I was completely shocked and disappointed.
Let me be blunt: this is not Mandi. What they serve is what real food lovers call "Freezer Mandi"—a sad imitation of the real thing. Here's what that means:
They pre-pack rice in aluminum trays, store it in a freezer, and just microwave the entire plate when someone places an order.
Then they take a frozen, pre-cooked piece of chicken or mutton (probably days old), warm that up, and place it on top of the rice. That’s it. No slow-cooking. No fresh preparation. No aroma. No flavour depth. Just freezer-burned rice and meat served with zero heart.
A close friend of mine owns a Mandi restaurant and makes fresh, layered, slow-cooked Mandi that’s fragrant and rich in taste—what Mandi should be. After eating there, this place felt like a complete bluff. They're misleading customers who’ve never tried real Mandi into thinking this is how it’s supposed to be. It’s not just bad—it’s gut-spoiling.
If you truly want to experience authentic Mandi, do NOT waste your money here.
Instead, try these places in Chennai that actually serve the real deal:
🌴 Palmshore – Egmore
🌟 Heaven Park – Thousand Lights
🍽 Zaitoon – Anna Nagar
These restaurants make fresh, flavour-packed Mandi with care, served hot off the stove—not the freezer.
Final verdict: 🚫 Avoid this restaurant completely. 🧊 Freezer Mandi is not Mandi. 🤢 Your gut will thank you for...
Read moreAs-salaamu alaykum dear Sisters and Brothers, Came across this restaurant last night when driving down with my sister. We watched a movie in PVR cinemas on ECR road (near Neelankarai Police Station) and a few metres before that was this restaurant (on the opposite side).
Loved the food. It had interesting flavours.
We had some short eats and a dessert.
Thinking we will go home and have dinner after that. It was actually quite filling.
The side orders we had were really good. In par with what you get in Saudi Arabia, if not better.
The service staff were very courteous and helpful with the choices on the menu.
We liked the service of Mr. Abdul Hassan ( who was serving our table). He was very courteous and really made our dining experience enjoyable.
We settled for the Turkish Pide (chicken) and Muthabak. After finishing it we decided to try out their desserts and settled for a slice of caramel custard (from the desserts that were on display). The caramel custard had dessicated coconut as a garnish and didn't taste too sweet. The custard probably had coconut milk in it as well as it wasn't too firm and stiff like the ones in other Indian restaurants. It didn't leave a bitter after taste of caramel like most places.
Overall, it was a good experience.
Apart from the popular Ottomans, this is another interesting place to visit for Turkish and Arabic Food. Trust me, you won't be...
Read more“Useless” would be an understatement. The staff have no idea of what they are doing. More than half of the menu items weren’t available while placing the order. Still proceeded with the available options. The kebabs were informed to take 20 mins; which we were fine with it and others were said to be readily available. The first plate arrived after 25 mins. The subsequent ones being 10-15 mins away. Oh and the kebab didn’t arrive even past an hour. The reason was because the kitchen staff don’t listen to the service staff and lie to them apparently. So once you place the order make sure you walk to the kitchen and talk with the chef to proceed with the prep.
The place had no AC in working condition. The visit was for dinner on a sunday and not one table seemed to be happy with the place.
The staff needs to be trained big time and taught how to communicate to the customers. Take up the responsibility.
They are making a mockery of the customers with absolutely no guilt.
Special mention to the fake reviews they’ve put out across platforms and all the social media “influencers” claiming the place to be perfect. Also, the middle-east style dining space is not open and was opened only for the influencers. With this level of service and staffing it seems impossible to open up that space anyways.
Expecting a better restaurant to pop up in this wonderful...
