Changing my 2-star review to 5 stars.
After my initial experience, which wasn't great, I’ve been to this restaurant more than five times and even ordered food for home delivery on several occasions. I must say, every visit since has been fantastic, and I now consider this one of the best Andhra restaurants in the area.
From the food to the service, everything has improved significantly. The variety of dishes I’ve tried so far has been consistently delicious. Every single dish has met or exceeded my expectations. One standout is the Chicken Kshathria, which is only available at night—trust me, it’s worth planning your visit around this dish. The flavors are bold, the chicken is perfectly cooked, and the spices hit just the right notes. It has quickly become my go-to order whenever I dine here.
The service has also been impeccable. Every time I’ve visited since that first experience, I’ve been treated warmly by the staff. They’ve been attentive, ensuring that each visit has been a pleasant one. The packaging for takeout and delivery has also been top-notch. The food always arrives hot and fresh, carefully packed so that nothing spills or gets soggy during transport.
What I appreciate most about this restaurant is the consistency. Often, places have one or two standout dishes, but here, every dish I’ve tried has been memorable. From the appetizers to the main courses, I’ve never been disappointed. I also want to highlight the care they take with every order—whether dining in or ordering for home, the quality of the food remains the same.
To sum it up, I now wholeheartedly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Andhra cuisine. It’s a restaurant that has truly won me over, not just with one dish, but with the entire dining experience. The food, the service, the attention to detail—it all adds up to a 5-star rating in my book.
Terrible First-Time Experience, but It Got Much Better
Despite a rocky first experience, everything has been great since. This restaurant deserves 5 stars for its food, service, and ambiance. I haven't visited during peak busy hours yet, but I still wouldn't recommend going on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
Our first visit was on a busy Sunday, just before the IPL final. Given the timing, I understand there would be delays. We waited 25 minutes for a table, another 20 minutes to place our order, and 15 more minutes for the main dish after the soup. While we understood the restaurant was packed, it was a bit disheartening to see the table next to us being served continuously without any delay. I don't think this was intentional, but it did sour our experience a bit.
We weren't too upset, though, as we were excited to try the food. The soup arrived first, and let me tell you—it was fantastic. It was more than just a soup, almost like a mild kurma in terms of richness and flavor. However, I have to mention that there was a hair in it. I just put it aside and continued eating because the soup was that good, but let's be honest—when you're paying a premium price for your meal, you don't expect to find hair in your food. Not everyone would be as nonchalant as I was about it.
Next came the Guntur Chicken, which was a 3/5 dish for me. The Supreme Biryani, which came with a lot of hype, was good but not extraordinary. I'd rate it 4/5 overall, but the chicken in the biryani was phenomenal—definitely one of the best I've ever had. Its flavor was so impressive that it overshadowed the Guntur Chicken.
Finally, we received our most anticipated dish, the fish fry. Visually, I'd give it an 8/10, but unfortunately, it didn't taste as good as it looked. The fish was smelly, and that was disappointing—I'd have to rate it a 2/10. We were so let down by the fish that we skipped dessert altogether. Overall, that first visit was a 2/5 experience.
However, the chicken in the Supreme Biryani alone deserves a 5/5, and my subsequent visits have been much better. I now highly...

Parking: Has valet parking for cars
Ambience: Brightly lit cozy ambience. It has a great space and can accommodate families, large gatherings
Food: we primarily went to try bamboo chicken, ghee roast prawn. On ordering ghee roast prawn, the bearer suggested to go with assorted Andhra non veg platter saying it has chicken, fish additionally .i confirmed with him whether they are all ghee roasted and he said yes . As he confirmed it’s all ghee roast, we said ok for assorted Andhra non veg platter. When it arrived the platter dint have any prawn(the one we initially came for), and the platter is not ghee roasted but only oily . He lied to us on our face to increase the dining value but at what cost! You should have basic ethics in food industry which the NPR’s bearer lacked . Coming to the bamboo chicken, it’s just overhyped dish where they open up the chicken from a bamboo shoot . Taste wise , it’s bland with no masala but has chilli bits visible on it . If you enjoy bland chicken with chilli bits , this is your dish . We also ordered supreme chicken boneless biriyani and watermelon juice , both are good and recommended.
Service: The bearers who takes orders instead of just blinding upselling, they must only recommend dish based on what user orders (in my case prawn ghee roasted) , not any other just to increase dining value . Secondly , anything requested to the lady staff, they just listen, smile back and do nothing. I am not sure what role do they serve if not just meant to be standing. The servers lack communication skills in both Tamil and English. I had to tell the servers more than once to get it them moving. Also servers are kanjoos with raitha. I am here sitting with family on a mixed non veg platter but servers are reluctant to give me extra raitha for the platter!! I am spending of 1640rs+gst on platter and getting looked upon for requesting their highly priced “raitha” . Overall , the hierarchy of bearers to take orders, lady staffs standing clueless, servers who are reluctant needs training for customer service and communication
Washroom: washroom is neat and maintained but the water pressure in hand wash is low when more than 1 tap is used by others. It doesn’t give a wash feel for cleaning up heavy oily greasy non veg they serve.
Customers: I saw Telugu customers being verbally harsh with servers and lady staffs misusing their native language connection . People working there are humans as well and need to be treated with dignity. Just because you speak their tongue, you can’t bash them around. Telugu customers should treat the staff right.
Phone number policy: I was thinking of giving overall 2 stars rating but reduced to 1 star rating for their mandatory phone number policy for order. Why are you collecting my personal phone number just to dine in at your place ? I don’t want to be targeted by yet another spam call.Have basic data privacy ethics.
Overall, pretty bad experience with over hyped food and untrained clueless staff .
I will NOT recommend nandhana palace mount road Anna Salai to my friends and family

Read moreWent to the restaurant for a Sunday lunch with a friend. Huge parking space available for both cars and two wheelers. As it was a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was house full and a long queue was waiting outside for their turn. But thankfully we got inside within 15 minutes.
The ambience of the restaurant is very good. It is a nice restaurant to take your family and friends. After going through the menu, decided to start with Pepper Chicken Soup. The taste of the soup was very good and spicy with a few chicken pieces. It was a nice little start to the meal. So for the main course we ordered the Supreme boneless chicken Biriyani. Its a hyderabad style biriyani with a spicy masala. The taste of the biryani is very good and has sufficient quantity of chicken pieces. The chicken used in the Biriyani was tender and very juicy. Also ordered Chicken Sholay kebab after seeing many positive reviews on Google for the dish. The taste of the chicken sholay kebab was excellent. The chicken was soft, juicy and very spicy. The masala used in the chicken was finger licking good. Its a must try dish. Next we ordered Nandhana Chicken Roast. After waiting for more than 20 minutes for the dish, the restaurant staff informed us that the dish wasn't available which was a bummer. The restaurant definitely needs to improve their service quality.
Overall a very good dining experience at the Nandhana Palace and all the three dishes were very good and highly...
