Disappointing Experience: Poor Service and Food Quality

I'm writing this review on behalf of my 57-year-old mother, who had a distressing experience at A2B two weeks ago.

She visited the hotel and ordered a Ghee Roast Dosa, which was priced at ₹158. However, the server mistakenly brought her Pongal instead. She politely informed him of the error. He then served her a pre-prepared Dosa that was cold and far from fresh. As she was dining alone, she didn't want to escalate the situation and reluctantly ate the subpar chilled food.

What's even more concerning is that the server's attitude and the hotel's lack of attention to detail made my mother feel disrespected and uncomfortable.

As a family, we're extremely disappointed in the hotel's service and food quality. We hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and takes necessary steps to correct their mistakes.

Rating given: 1/5 stars

Improve staff training (server) to focus on customer satisfaction and ensure that food is prepared fresh and served promptly.

I wish she had taken the picture of the food served to her so that i...

This is the most worst restaurant espinrience at this price range for Menu.

They are charging more than average or will say premium price for all th items. Still you have to stand in queue holding your bill waiting for your food to come from the kitchen along with a large group of people.

Even in a street shop they are ready to serve us food on our table, even after paying this much A2B wants us to beg for food in the queue.

I saw many people, even very old people who were sitting without knowing A2B is only with self service, they waited for so long then somehow they understands no one is there to serve.

Now next worst thing, washroom or hand washing space, where tap will not work. They will keep a bucket along with mug, that also self service even pipes will not serve.

Worst experience even after paying this. If we customers do not reacts for these, they will continue to feel that customers are beggers.

Attaching a photo of the hand washing area to prove...

Today I had the worst experience with A2B services. I went to this A2B for dinner with my wife & daughter, ordered 2 Ghee Roast Dosa, 1 Mini Idli & 2 Filter Coffees. While having the food, my wife pointed out to the waiter that the dosa had a piece of a rubber band in it, my wife highly condemned it as we were giving few pieces of the Dosa even to our daughter. The waiter immediately apologised & even offered to replace it with something else, but we politely denied the offer. While the bill was brought to me for payment, I asked for the cost of 1 Ghee Roast Dosa (with rubber band) to be stricken from the bill & was willing to pay the balance amount. The waiter denied to reduce the bill amount repeatedly & we finally paid the total amount of Rs.452/- & left the premises as it was getting very late for us. I am very disgusted by their food quality & service, request everyone to completely avoid A2B or at-least be very cautious while...

This branch of A2B is located in Chepauk -Triplicane in a crowded street, opposite the Triplicane Police Station. There are very few vegetarian restaurants. Food quality is decent. The mushroom biryani portion is quite large and sufficient for a contentful meal. Made of basmati rice it tastes good. One drawback is that the quantity of the soft fried mushroom is lesser in the large bowl. For the ₹265 price point, one would expect more mushroom pieces. The onion raitha served as side dish is perfect. They also provide kurma and chutney on request. The green chutney is a tasty combo. Coffee at ₹40 is also aromatic. Please note: This review is only for these two items and only applicable to this branch. A2B, as such, is not known for maintaining consistency in quality, taste and service across its numerous branches. Each chef prepares the dish differently. This branch has valet parking.

Back then...when I was in chennai for few days... I was struggling hard to find pure veg restaurants.. and then on my way to Matsyanarayan Temple, I got my eye on A2B pure veg restaurant. We had filter coffee, fried rice, pongal and ghee roast dosa. I would rate every dish 10/10. I had pongal for the very first time in my life and it was the best experience. I just loved it. Ghee roast dosa was yum too. The taste of coconut chutney and sambhar is unforgettable. Price was okay too as per the taste. We spent around 1k - 1.5 k for 5 people . Staff was good. Place seemed to be a bit over populated, maybe due to its hype. A2B has many restaurants over there in south India. I would definitely recommend it to every vegetarian.

A2B (Adyar Ananda Bhavan) in Triplicane is a great spot for tasty South Indian food, especially if you’re craving authentic dosas, idlis, and meals. The taste is consistent and satisfying, making it a popular choice for locals and tourists alike. It is easily accessible, located just a short walk from the Government Estate Metro Station, which adds to the convenience. Apart from the delicious meals, the outlet also offers a wide range of sweets and snacks that are perfect to take home or gift. However, one downside is that the toilet facilities could be better maintained, as they tend to be a bit messy. Overall, it’s a reliable place for a hearty meal with quick service and a variety of traditional treats.
