I consider this shop is the one which started the trend of "Thattu idly" in Chennai and it has maintained it's taste and charm for all these years.
We recently went there on a weekend. We ordered Thattu idly, Mexican corn bread Dosa and masala Vadai.
As always, idlies were served with coconut chutney, tomato chutney and sambar. All of these tasted fresh even around 9 pm on a weekend. The sambar and idly were really hot. I kind of felt the flavor of ghee was lesser compared to last time. All in all it was good but I remember having better idly at their shop.
The dosa was first cooked with the filling. It was nicely wrapped and was sandwiched between bread. The sandwich was then toasted on the pan and served with mayonnaise. We had high expectations but were kind of disappointed by it. The flavors were not as expected and the cheese and stuffing had kind of made the dish a bit messy.
The service as usual was un organised and hence it felt we had to wait forever to get our food.
It's very congested, and it's almost impossible to find a place to stay and eat indoors. So be prepared to stand out doors on the road whole consuming the food.
This road has quite few other options around this place. Given the above conditions, i suggest to try the other options and maybe avoid the hassle. And I would not recommend going to this...

The thattu idli was heavenly in taste with ghee and podi on top... Such a soft and fluffy idli it was... Awesome in taste... The Vadai was pure disaster that i felt i could have definitely avoided it... The Sambar and chutney served along with it were really good in taste too...
Pricing was slightly om the higher side for the overall...
