The Garden Cafe by Harrington Room — Restaurant in Zone 8 Anna Nagar

This is actually a great place to work while eating and sipping your favourite drink. The place doesn't have AC and it is kinda a garden with a small kitchen, a restroom, which was clean, and a smoking corner which is all great. All the tables have a charging point and it's not crowded at all during the day. They have some books and board games for customers. But there are some cons to the place: A few stray dogs just casually roam around the place. May be it's just me, it may not be an issue at all with many people but I am not comfortable with dogs around while I am eating or working. Especially when I was the only one at the place in the afternoon, I didn't feel comfortable with 2 dogs sitting beside me. The owner and a few customers seemed to be pet friendly and may be it's a place for animal lovers. It may not work for people like me who are not comfortable with dogs.

The kitchen doesn't seem to look hygienic. Moreover, there was a cat sitting on the kitchen counter and the cook was just playing with it just before preparing the food.

If not for these cons, I would almost work from here 2 or 3...

I personally enjoyed everything about this place. It's affordable and a place to relax. They provide you with fun board games and even spacious tables to spend the evenings with friends. So my friends and I had a good time here and it was a wonderful experience to cherish. We had Espresso, Capuchinos, French Fries, Chicken, Panner, Corn and Cheese Momos, Hot Chocolate and the Hazzle Nut Latte which was really good. The serves really worth the price and of course the surrounding is an ideal location to spend some time with friends. I recommend this place for friends and even family for their recreation. They have a 20% discount on Monday for phone free tables and that's a really good initiative. Overall I love the place and would be a definite destination to visit again.

I also reserved the table and at the arrival even preferred the terrace location and it was the best place to hangout. The staff was friendly and it was very convenient. SELF-SERVICE but it has its own uniqueness. Happy to spend some quality time here. Thankyou...

Food: Not worth the price and very disappointing. We had a platter which was basically fried frozen items, the oil is weird and we had to leave half of them without eating, especially samosa and potato nugget. Fries were the only one that was okay. Corn and Cheese was okay but it was also the frozen food. Cappuccino was nothing but literally 90 ml Bru coffee.

Ambience: It is great for the nature and outdoor seating. Must be hot anytime but evenings as they have a tin shed covering which was bad in the evening itself. We had trouble with mosquitos and couldn’t stay long.
