Al Diwan Lebanese Cuisine & Shisha Lounge — Restaurant in Bali

My partner Tarek is of Lebanese heritage and when we spotted this place on our trip to Bali he said we had to go. And go we did 4 times in a 7 day stay. On our 2nd visit we met the owner Ahmed what a chracter he is and so passionate about bringing traditional Lebanese food to Bali. That second visit for dinner Tarek ordered nearly everything on menu what a feast it was Ahmed was eating something not on the menu but made just for him which he insisted we try and share with him beautiful home cooked Lebanese cooked to perfection. We could not eat all the food we ordered but it was packed up and s9ent home with us which we than shared with the staff at our villa who were amazed at the wonderful food. We were also asked to be his guests for the Friday night when he discovered it was my birthday again an exceptional meal followed by a truly decadent cake which he had one of the staff source. Not only is the food amazing but the friendly service from the staff who you can tell enjoy there jobs and aim to please. If you find yourself in Bali you have to visit Al Diwan for a truly memorable experience and dont forget to also check out the rooftop you wont be sorry.And yes visit number 4 lunch before we had to head to the airport and home to Melbourne we know we wont get such terrific Lebanese till we get back to Bali for another trip so had to make another visit to hold us over till next time cant wait. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Al Diwan Lebanese Cuisine and Shisha Lounge, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere, with beautiful Middle Eastern decor that transported me to the heart of Lebanon.

Let's start with the food. The Chicken Shish Tawouk was absolutely mouthwatering. The chicken was perfectly grilled, tender, and bursting with flavor. The falafel, another staple of Lebanese cuisine, was equally impressive. The falafel balls were perfectly crispy on the outside while maintaining a moist and flavorful interior. They were generously seasoned with herbs and spices, creating a delightful explosion of flavors. Served with tahini sauce and warm pita bread, it was a delicious and satisfying vegetarian option.

The service at Al Diwan was exceptional. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and accommodate any dietary preferences or restrictions. The waitstaff created a welcoming and hospitable environment, ensuring that every need was met.

I recently visited this restaurant and had a mixed experience. While the food was not bad, I was disappointed with the chef's stingy attitude. My friends and I wanted to try some shawarma, but we were told that it was only available for take away. Despite ordering a large amount of food, the chef initially refused to serve us the shawarma. It took some convincing, but eventually, they agreed to make us a sandwich, but charged us the price of a more expensive meal. I found this to be quite frustrating.

Another example of the chef's stinginess was the garlic sauce. It was only served with the mixed grill and not with other grills. If you asked for it, they would charge you extra. I couldn't understand why they would charge extra for something that should be a basic accompaniment to any grilled dish.

However, what saved this restaurant for me was their friendly and accommodating waitresses. They went out of their way to make sure that we had an enjoyable dining experience. Their service was top-notch, and they made us feel welcomed and valued as customers.

Overall, while the food was decent, I was disappointed with the chef's stingy attitude. However, the excellent service provided by the waitresses helped to balance out the experience.
