Calle Ocho Bali - Shot Bar & Tacos — Restaurant in Bali

Firstly, we arrived and ordered two beers and paid with 100,000 IDR cash. The staff then came down and said they didn’t have 20,000 IDR change so couldn’t give us change. She said our only option was to get another drink and we could knock 20,000 off it, so we ordered a shot. We pointed to the shot we wanted on the menu, a Gin shot, and she said that was okay and took the menu. She came back with the wrong shot, which was a vodka redbull shot. We thought it wasn’t the correct shot so took one sip of the shot and realised it was the wrong one. We then explained to her the shot was wrong and asked if we could get the one we had ordered. She was extremely hesitant to do this, saying she “didn’t expect us to say anything”, rolling her eyes about it and was generally really annoyed. She eventually came back with the right shot, but continued to shoot us dirty looks across the bar, along with other staff. On top of this, there was a very clearly intoxicated older man who was taking unsolicited photos of young women in the bar and catcalling women on the street. Came in for the tattoo thursdays (1 tattoo 3x3cm and 1 cocktail for 200k)

The cocktails were alright, nothing to rave about. They probably just made simple cocktails to make up for the tattoos which is fine :)

As for the tattoos the first one I got ended up great. Second one is healing a little oddly maybe because they used single needles to fill up a tattoo with black. Third one I got was my favourite until 3-4 days later when it started to peel and it has faded tremendously already…. Not sure if it’s the location of my tattoo or the artist didn’t go deep enough? Regardless, I’d probably still be back for this great deal.

As for the food, I would honestly give it a miss and head down to Ling Lings for tacos at the same price point but much more depth. The tacos here were alright but seemed very “instant” if you know what I mean?

Staff were friendly and getting the tattoos were pretty efficient!

However, music was really loud. Also I think you can make the tattooing spot a little brighter for the artists to do more...

This place is cute and the tacos are yummy but had quite a plethora of rude slogans written all over the wall. I also mostly loved the tattoo night. I got an airplane tattoo, a tiny one but then afterwards got charged the price of 2 x tattoos for 10 tiny dots on my toes and one that has actually fallen off already so I thought that was a waste of money since the dots were so small but we're somehow more expensive than my airplane tattoo that was a lot bigger and detailed. After we left the bar, my friend and I were also hurt by the owners friend who told us "he doesn't care because he is lawyer". He has been reported to the Badung police and to the owner of Calle Ocho. Please be wary of people pouring spirits into your drinks here and also don't accept free drinks as he frequently visits this place and Little Havana (same owner) waiting for...
