I have to kick this review off with a lighthearted confession: as an American, my brain instantly goes to bold letters when it comes to names. So when I first spotted Kynd, I mistakenly referred to it as "KDNY" in a hilarious mix-up akin to NYPD or LAPD. It's become a running joke among my friends—the question “Want to go to KDNY?” always gets a chuckle!
Now, onto my experiences at Kynd. I’ve been fortunate enough to visit multiple times, and every visit reaffirms that this place is one of the top-quality vegan restaurants in Seminyak.
Let me start by talking about the ambiance. Kynd is picture-perfect, catering perfectly to the Instagram crowd and anyone in search of a visually pleasing dining experience. The vibrant colors, creative decor, and an overall inviting atmosphere make it a haven for influencers and casual diners alike. If you’re looking to snap some gorgeous photos while indulging in a delicious meal, this is absolutely the spot. The bright, natural light streaming combined with the chic interior creates an enjoyable dining environment that is hard to beat.
When it comes to the food, Kynd offers a very large menu filled with diverse options—something I believe is essential for any great restaurant. Over my visits, I’ve managed to sample quite a range of items, estimating I’ve tried between 7 and 12 different dishes. The variety ensures there's something for everyone, whether you're a breakfast lover, a lunch devotee, or just popping in for a snack.
The breakfast items have stolen my heart, and I have to say, the pancakes are an absolute highlight—by far some of the best items on the menu. Fluffy, flavorful, and beautifully presented, they are a must-try for anyone visiting Kynd. There’s something incredibly satisfying about digging into a stack of pancakes that not only tastes great but also looks stunning on your plate.
Now, when it comes to beverages, Kynd excels in offering a range of drinks. For those who enjoy a spirited beverage, there are fantastic options available—several of my friends who indulge in alcohol rave about the cocktails. Personally, I lean towards their mocktails, which I find more satisfying than their milkshakes. My experience with the milkshakes was a bit unfortunate; they were notably thin and lacked the robust flavor I was expecting. This is a small downside, but it is definitely worth mentioning.
On my latest visit, I finally took the plunge and ordered dessert. I chose the carrot cake, and while it was certainly tasty, I found it a little dry. This was the lone blemish in an otherwise delightful culinary experience. A moist carrot cake would have taken the dessert to the next level!
In summary, Kynd in Seminyak is a highly recommended destination for anyone seeking quality vegan fare. With its stunning decor, extensive menu, and delightful breakfast offerings, it firmly sits at the top of the list for vegan restaurants in the area. Just remember, whether you call it Kynd or KDNY, you’re in for a treat! Don’t miss out on the pancakes, and be ready to capture that perfect Instagram shot, all while enjoying a vibrant atmosphere and...
Read moreExceeded expectations! Great staff, great food, beautiful layout and design.
The location is really nice as its on a street that snakes past the place, no need to take many random turns. Has an ice cream shop out front and the restaurant in the back. Has a huge stand with showing the logo so easily visible. Also decent parking space and a guy out front directing you in.
Although i arrive 330 they let me know when is closing time and order stop, twice too, very professional and friendly. The whole place has a beautiful design, parts that are very cute and Insta worthy. But some parts are designed in a general modern minimalistic design.
I expected the food to be all smoothie bowls but they have s large array of drinks, smoothie, milkshakes, breakfast, lunch and dinner items. They seem to have the typical healthy vegan good but also heavier dishes. I had the boss breaky and oreo cheesecake. Both were delicious, especially the cheesecake - finally a dessert hit the right spot - and the chorizo very meaty. Cost me a total of around 150. I'd say if you're ordering only one dish or a smoothie you can estimate ~50k but if you're getting more food expect 100k + per person. Reasonabl in my opinion.
Overall, although the establishment attracts a specific crowd, its made for a more general public. Great place, definitely want to...
Read moreIt’s cool to be kynd. Kind. I found the wording on their wall is very empowering. This is a plant-based cafe with a lot of delicious food without using real meat. I was here with my best friend who’s been switched to plant-based food for the past year. And I can say, if every plant-based is as good as here, I might switch myself into a plant-based eater as well.
Here are my recommendations: Bamburger, Rendang Dumplings, Creamy (ramen) Tan Tan, and Salt-Pepper Squid.
What I’ve tried were the Salt-Pepper Squid, so delicious and chewy and it feels almost like a real squid, but it was using jelly, they said. Oh, and if you’re a noodle lover, you’d might want to try their Creamy Tan Tan: minced ‘pork’ with sweet corn, pok choy, and thick creamy soup base. It was hard for me to stop slurping on its soup base.
The drinks? It was...okay, you can make it by yourself at home IF you know the recipe and ingredients. Speaking about the recipe, Kynd also sell their recipe cookbook for (more or less) around IDR 470,000 to IDR 500,000. It might a good investment if you are really into plant-based. Trust me, their (plant-based)...
