If you’re looking for an incredible dining experience in Bali, look no further than Home by Chef Wayan in Pererenan. After a recent renovation, the restaurant is back and looking stunning in its bold royal blue decor—modern, elegant, and oh-so-inviting.
What makes this spot truly special is its dedication to showcasing modern Balinese cuisine. Chef Wayan is on a mission to introduce the world to the rich flavors of Bali beyond the usual babi guling and sate babi. And wow, he’s nailed it.
The menu is a celebration of Bali’s culinary heritage, reimagined with finesse. Highlights include: • Ayam Serosop (Pan-seared chicken, spiced coconut broth, local vegetables) • Babi Bali (Pork cheek, ginger & turmeric bumbu Bali, jus, sambal matah) • Seafood Seraten (Oven-roasted fish, keciwis baby cabbage, suna cekuh coconut broth)
Each dish delivers perfection in taste, texture, and presentation, with every bite telling the story of Bali’s terroir. The best part? You get to experience authentic Balinese flavors without the worry of Bali belly.
And if you’re lucky, you’ll meet the incredible Chef Wayan and his amazing wife, Marry. Their warm hospitality and passion for what they do make the experience even more special.
Home by Chef Wayan is more than a restaurant—it’s a destination for anyone curious about Balinese cuisine....
Read moreI was staying at a hotel nearby. Decided to have late lunch. After doing a quick search on google. Found Home by Chef Wayan around the corner, it states Indonesian cuisine with a modern twist. I always go to different counties to try their local dishes. So decided to pop by and I was pleasantly surprised by their food! I had 2 dishes, 1 Apple GT Kombucha
Ayam Srosop which was chicken thigh with crisp skin and the soup/sauce accompanied it was really just nice. I really enjoyed mixed with my nasi/rice. Not too spicy.
Beef Rendang, really tender/soft. It wasn’t too spicy and it was really enjoyable
Apple GT kombucha was initially little sour for me. So I mixed with ice. The wife of the restaurant owner came by to say hi and to me and shared that Kombucha was home-made and suggested to add some ice so that the taste will get better as I thought it was perfect for a hot day like today.
She was such a sweet lady. I will definitely recommend and come back again
Note: I was so hungry that I gobbled up everything and forgot to take photos except the Apple...

The Grilled Octopus as almost no octopus, tiny mini pieces. The plate is absolutely fantastic, the idea of a potatoes risotto is beautiful and the octopus is cook to perfection but it was ridiculous the amount of octopus. (it was not like on their IG account) The piece of Gilled fish was small but we found out after that it was black-cod (or the Indonesian equivalent) It was weird also that it was served with rice.
The dessert were really good. Great Ice-cream.
The bagel for the morning was good but it was a bit naked in the middle of a white plate. it was the same for the pancake. They were although very good.
