Lusa By/Suka — Restaurant in Bali

Came here on a friend’s recommendation for brunch and the food certainly did not disappoint!! 2 of us ordered these 2 mains + a banana banoffee waffle and were super full by the end of it. We were very happy with our selections by the way, with one super savory main (the chili crab scrambled egg) and something healthy to help balance it out (the tuna soba salad). The former - loved how fluffy the scrambled egg was with a distinct seafood-y taste of crab but curiously no matter how much we dug around, we simply could find any pieces of crab. But oh well, together with the toasty sourdough and delectable chili oil, it certainly hit the right spot! The latter - the whole soba salad felt super clean with its sweet and zesty dressing! We especially loved the soft melt in your mouth tofu cubes. Seared tuna was a nice touch and added some much needed protein. The banoffee waffles!! Were a superb end to the meal!! I loved how they painstakingly and artistically dripped different sauces (caramel, dark chocolate whipped cream) into each uhm dimple. The Creme brûlée banana slices were delish, pity there were only those few slices!! And the vanilla ice cream was 10/10, did not taste artificial at all!!

If anything, we would have appreciated if the dessert was served later (or if the server had asked if we wanted it to be served later) because it arrived together with the mains and the ice cream melted really quickly. This is hands down one of the best or maybe even the best place in Canggu. Personally my favourite! The food, the ambiance, presentation, and value. We have been at Lusa multiple times and probably had everything on the menu by now. Amazing surprise little menu for every day of the week, great cocktails ( even the happy hour ones), and barramundi, Ceaser salad, ramen and parmigiana to die for. Absolutely amazing 55k breakfast deals. They used to have a great bar area upstairs but I think is ongoing a renovation at the moment- lovely for a date night. The staff is amazing, always there for you and eager to explain everything, however my small observation after several times at the restaurant- they are a little bit too attentive to my taste. Sometimes is good to leave the guests to themselves, we will ask for another round of drinks if we want one :) I particularly found clearing the glasses before the last sip and offering another round a bit too much at times, I understand the concept of upselling to your clients but it doesn’t always work this way. Thats just a small detail, nothing that would stop me from going there- the only reason I say this is because I absolutely love this place and I think it could easily aim for more than 4.7! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lusa By/Suka during my stay in Bali, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is truly lovely—warm, inviting, and beautifully designed. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger and enjoy the ambiance as much as the food.

Speaking of food, it was absolutely delicious! I tried the half charcoal-roasted chicken with asparagus as a side dish, and everything was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The chicken had a wonderful smoky taste, and the asparagus was fresh and perfectly seasoned. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into their dishes.

What really stood out, though, was the incredible service. The staff were all friendly and attentive, but a special shout-out goes to Ayu, who went above and beyond to make the experience memorable. She was sweet, welcoming, and ensured every detail was taken care of. It’s rare to encounter such genuine hospitality, and Ayu truly deserves recognition for her excellent service.
