The vibe of claypot rice finally reach Bandung, my hometown. Tried the Claypot Popo in Jakarta, and expect this Cici Claypot to have the same gesture and taste like the 'grandma' version in Jakarta.
The place is nice, semi outdoor type where the Bandung breeze is nice and comfy. Reach the place when the shop is barely open at 11am. We got to see they warm up the place, and ordered as the first customer of the day.
Ordered their Signature Siram Ayam and Sapi, and also tried other delicacies such as : Ayam Kembang Tahu with Misua, and Nasi Yangchou Ayam. Their signature dish comes out decent and comforting, like a claypot dish should be. The soup taste tends to be sweet, a perfect mix and blends nicely with your chosen carb. What surprise me the most is their Ayam Kembang Tahu. It's very salty. I try to taste the misua, checking whether it is seasoned incorrectly, but turns out the misua is fine. The soup is really different with the signature... too salty for me. Nasi Yangchou Ayam, also a bit surprising.. since I was expecting a Yangchou Fried Rice, but it comes out in claypot, morelike Yangchou Baked Rice. Hey.. it's Cici Claypot, anyway. What do you expect?! Hehehe..
Anyway, the food is good, as long as you choose wisely. The ambience is nice. And the service is good, since it is open kitchen, you can surely take as many pictures/videos to your liking, if you are the content creator type.
Will be back for other variant of...
Read moreRecommended to order dishes with their specialty broth. The beef broth was tastier than the chicken. The chili oil raised the bar further. It tasted great for the broth or their rice menu, not too salty, and the garlic pieces were still crunchy. Best to be eaten during night or cold weather. Service was fast. The seating area was splitted between indoor and outdoor. Both were fully roofed, so both were safe from light-medium rain. But the indoor is an open space, it didn't have air conditioning (we didn't feel any) and there were some areas that allowed natural light to enter, so it's quite hot there during a bright sunny day. Prepare to sweat a lot if you decide to eat their broth menu during a hot day. If you want a noodle but prefer it straight and thin, I recommend their "Misoa Siram Sapi". If you want another dimension and texture, add small pieces of cakues that're sold by Hau's Tea stall inside. Will be even better with a soft-boiled egg 🤤. Too bad their weekend menu was not sold when we came here on Sunday. Lastly, parking space, sigh good luck...

It opens for breakfast, closes at 10.30 am and opens again at 11 am. It's located in a kind of food court where there are several other food stalls with shared dining area.
We tried their Mie Kriuk Siram Sapi with egg, Mie Kriuk Siram Ayam, Ayam Kembang Tahu, and Cireng Mang Aup. They were superb. Nothing failed. Their Mie Kriuk was indescribably chewy yet soft. Added Chilli oil to the pot for extra flavor. The soup was a perfect umami. The cireng itself was nice and soft, unlike hard and super chewy cireng, with spicy garlic chilli sambal on the side. Tried dipping the cireng in the pot and it tasted heavenly. The chicken was super tender. Ayam kembang tahu is a comfort food, the kind that will make you feel better when you are sick.
Overall, Cici Claypot has now become a must-visit place when I'm in Bandung and I can't wait to try their...
