Visited Holycow for their birthday promo and I left the place satisfied.

To get the promo, you just have to mention it to the waiter and they will guide you through the process. It will require you to fill out their forms, follow their Instagram and show your ID. The promo will give you a free hamburg steak set, containing hamburg steak, veggies of your choices, and potato of your choices (mashed or fried), and you're required to order one drink. For my drink, i ordered their coffee and cake set for 35k (before taxes), consisting of their kopi susu gula aren and regal cake.

The hamburg steak set is delicious, the steak itself is more of a seasoned meat taste, so if you're expecting a more natural meaty taste you won't find it here. Veggies are seasoned well with garlic and oils, and the potatoes have a more Herby taste to it. The sauces complement the side dishes and the steak well. Overall, switching between the different flavors is an enjoyable experience.

The coffee and the regal cake is really good as well. The aren sugar taste of the kopi susu gula aren is really prominent and unique, and is the highlight of the drink. Paired with the regal cake which are not too sweet, the two compliment each other perfectly.

Questionable service. First of all, order is done while standing up which does not sit well with me. Reading the menu feels like reading a spreadsheet. Just words and numbers with no actual pictures, absolutely none. It feels like I'm auditing a company's financial statement more than ordering for my dinner.

Staffs are not friendly, the guy whom I asked about steaks while I order does not answer me well. He didn't even pay attention to me when I was the only customer ordering. Here's what happened. "I'd like to order this" "Oh, no, we don't have that anymore" "Oh so what's left?" "Points at chunks of raw meat with tags" I notice other customers who come after me also have a hard time ordering their steaks. Combined with the spreadsheet-like menu and such service, this phenomena does not seem to be much of a wonder.

The cashier, who looks like the manager, does not repeat my order for me, which feels lacking because usually they repeat my order for me to confirm the order. For my dining experience, only the person helping with the order of beverages and the person delivering my food acted with great hospitality in mind.

However, when the food came out, it looked perfect. And to be frank, it tasted perfect too.

When we visited, the tap water was dark grey and stinks of air comberan. Awful. Washing your hands in it, no matter with how much soap, makes your hands stink. Staffs were quick to apologize and gave hand sanitizer as an alternative, but at Rp250k a person, not an experience anyone should delight in. It scares us to think the dishes are being washed with the same water.
