This iconic Bogor resto is getting really old. I used to be a regular customer from Jakarta.
On Saturday, May 17 I took my family and parents for lunch in Gumati. Quite disappointed with price to value provided. With such high price, the owner needs to do serious make over on the facilities and quality of food.
Gumati still has great potential: Below more detail: The location, ambience and view: can be a 5⭐, it has good brand, great location in the center of Bogor city, great view of mighty mount Salak. Visitors can directly enjoy beautiful mountain view, cool breeze mountain wind. Facility: the rattan chairs are too old needs major fixed or maybe change to a newer ones. No longer safe, the spikes of rattan fiber stuck to your clothes, might ruin it. The chairs are not sturdy enough might jeopardize safety, please inspect. Staffs are friendly and welcoming, started from security in parking spot to the stewardees on the resto. Food, the fried gurameh are really dry, when reheat with another frying made it very chewy, the same case with the variety of skewers. Only serve 2 variety of "sambal/chilly paste" needs to add more variety. The pricey rib soup contain too many bones, need to change to short ribs, the taste was okay. Free Sayur asam/sour veggies soup was great 👍🏾👍🏾. Facility: needs to renovate the toilets. Split level flour needs to be marked for safety reason. Rattan chairs, and the tables needs to be fixed and maybe renew, replace with better ones. The price, with lunch for close to IDR 170k per person we need to have better quality of food, service...

Another awkward moment if you want to give actual rating based on your experience. For reward, you would given a cup of tea (ice or hot, sweet or plain). You decided, was it worth for a cup of tea?
Pros : breathtaking Mt.Salak view large prayer room good vibes of services (based on my experience offcourse) free flow sayur asem, lalapan, sambel good for group meal walkable from Kebun Raya Bogor and Bogor Station.
Cons: no smoking restriction. Smoker (as always, sigh), just smoke anywhere and didnt give a damn about kids or baby around them. Of for short : smoke everywhere. expensive (for me) not a 'special' taste of food. I mean, its good, delicious. but not the sssuuuperrr tasty.. Again, based on my personal opinion. ××××× ? Not yet check the toilet how tidy and clean they are.
Hope: make a smoking room to maintain clear air. give an instruction/procedure where to start, what to do first finally, hope all the steward/ess well treat...
Read moremenawarkan makanan sunda, lalapan (selada, kol, timun, daun poh-pohan, terong hijau bulat, petai mentah, petai goreng) dengan pilihan sambal hijau dan sambal ulek yang enak. pilihan lauknya banyak ada ayam kampung, ikan bakar goreng, oncom, semur jengkol, sate-satean (kulit, usus, ampela), paru, beberapa jenis ikan asin, tahu tempe, tempe mendoan, tumis daun pepaya yang nggak pahit, tumis pare yang nggak pahit, karedok, terong balado, dll. pilihan minum juga lumayan banyak. soal rasa lumayan enak even though buat yang toleransi terhadap rasa asinnya amat sangat rendah bakal ngerasa agak asin. cuma atmosfir restonya aja kali ya yang menurut gue agak kureng, mungkin karena bangunan lama jadi kesannya tuh surem terus kaca atau furniturenya bukan yang kinclong gitu loh jadi atmosfirnya lebih ke rustic. lantai tuh perlu jadi perhatian karena licin di beberapa tempat khusunya yang arah ke mushola. tapi kalau servis pelayannya tuh oke, mereka sigap kalau diminta tolong. sistem pesen makannya tuh kita pilih lauk, lalap sambel, ambil free sayur asem kalo doyan di saung gitu trus sambil bilang ke pelayannya di saung itu kita pesen nasi berapa terus minum apa sama lauk mau digoreng atau dibakar. nah sayur sama lalapan yang udah ready tadi setelah bayar bisa langsung kita bawa ke meja. sementara minuman, nasi sama lauk ples peralatan makan nanti dibawain pelayannya ke meja tempat customer duduk. minuman dateng lumayan cepet, cuma lauk ini loh agak PR yah karena kita duduk tuh monggo bisa dimana aja dan pas kita pesen+bayar itu gak ada tag apapun kecuali ditanya pesanan atas nama siapa jadi pas minum/nasi+lauk ini dianter ke kita, pelayannya tuh bakal teriak manggil2 nama kita misal "pesanan atas nama bapak/ibu A" gitu. nah ini nih kudunya resto mungkin bisa siapin nomor aja kali ya, jadi kalo customor dateng dikasih nomor meja jadi tag pesanan bisa by nomor meja sehingga waktu pelayanan antar minuman/makanan gak perlu teriak-teriak dan cari-cari dimana tempat duduk customor yang pesen. oia cobain es krimnya juga, rasanya tuh klasik macam...
