Located at strategic area of Binamarga street and very close to the main city. Popolo have an outdoor area and indoor place with comfy and quite calm atmosphere. A great place to hang out, to chit chat with friends, and working! They provide electricity socket at almost each tables. Children friendly as well because they have games console located in the semi indoor area and provide color pencil with picture in the paper for coloring.
So this place is more into coffee shop because they don't serve heavy melas, only coffee, tea, pastries, cakes, and fritters. Eventhough you can get full belly if you spend enough time here and munching their snacks since they have many varieties of light bites and all of them are flavorfull with nice portion. Even during weekday this place always packed with people! The parking spot was enough. I always enjoy the hospitality of the service from Popolo staff, full smiles, fast, and hopeful.
The price for light bites and beverages were moderate between 18k to 40k. They use full arabica for the espresso-based with beans from Java, Sumatra, and Brazil athough it may differ in other occasion depends on the availability while for cold brew they use Gayo arabica. I like their coffee, fit to my palate. One of my favourite coffee shop which I always come back! The downsize would only because they didn't provide...
Read moreSmall but cozy place inside, more space in smoking area. Located on a quiet street, plenty of parking space around. There's a salad bar and a beauty salon nearby. This is my second visit, the first had been some years ago. Found out that they had improved the place, and the price was also significantly higher, too :) and it was still so noisy! Despite in both occasion, it was not that crowded. The friendly and amiable team of baristas loudly bantering and joking with familiar customers, ringing in the small room. Rather annoying for those who come for quiet time or doing serious work.
Anyway, they still provide good array of beverage and tempting, uncommon snacks. Had iced black coffee (33K) and chicken tortilla wrap (25K). Too expensive for simple black coffee, IMO. Anyway, the coffee was strong and good, a bit too sour for my taste but still fine. The wrap was actually omelette, but was quite delicious. I love their earth-loving gesture by using paper straws and real glass cups. Also love how thoughtful they arranged and served the order artistically. Worth to visit. A bit expensive (not as high as Starbucks), but still worth it. Will visit...
Read moreThe atmosphere here is incredibly enjoyable, perfect for hanging out while studying, chatting, or reading books. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but there are more tables and chairs available outdoors.
Regarding the food and drinks, I ordered the coconut iced coffee, but unfortunately, I found it lacking in coffee flavor; it was mostly dominated by the taste of coconut milk. They should use just one cube of ice with coconut milk. Additionally, the server recommended their best-selling snack, a sandwich with eggs, minced teriyaki chicken, and lettuce. In my opinion, the flavor was rather bland.
As for the service, this was my first and last visit to this cafe. It was quite crowded, but I found the service disappointing. They seemed a bit pushy when it came to clearing the table as soon as our drinks were empty. I had hoped to linger for a while, but I had to leave sooner than planned. It might be due to a shortage of glasses hahaha.. but usually some cafes don't clear the glasses until you leave, unless the empty plates.
Hopefully it can be a concern for...
