Glad to add The Rica Resto to my list of a must visit family restaurant in Bogor. Situated at the heart of the city, The Rica is easy to access, even though they are lack a significant sign and may confuse the first time visitors. The parking lot is spacious, able to accommodate a plenty of car at one time. They also offer a number of private rooms for families and work colleagues.
The food itself left us in awe. As part of Ikan Bakar Sulawesi Group, their menu is dominated by South Sulawesi cuisines, something that is not easy to find in Bogor. We ordered ikan kue bakar, nasi goreng merah, terong bakar rica Siladen, and cumi cabe garam Gianyar. Each tasted excellent and authentic, approved by my Celebesian palate. The kue bakar was accompanied by two selections of sambal: the rica that tasted pretty spicy, and the parape with its sweet nature. Combinations of the two create a balanced taste in the tongue. Nasi goreng merah and cumi cabe garam Gianyar are also top notch. We also recommend to start the feast with their Jalangkote, which was...
Read moreThe restaurant building used to be an EF English language school, which has been transformed into a restaurant. The former classrooms have been converted into private dining rooms, perfect for family gatherings or small meetings. If I'm not mistaken, there are about 7 private rooms available. Additionally, there is a spacious common area and a smoking area. The parking area is ample, and there's also a prayer room (mushola). Most of the dishes served are traditional Sulawesi cuisine, especially from Makassar. I found almost all the dishes I ordered to be delicious, especially the grilled “sukang monster” fish with sambel rica-ric, and also nasi goreng merah. However, I would only give it 4 stars because when I visited, nearly 1/3 of the items on the menu were not available (even though it was during lunchtime and not crowded at all). Additionally, there was one item that was double-charged on the bill, and I only noticed it after...
Read moreOne of the best seafood resto. Worth the price. I ordered Kuwe Bakar Parape, Live Shrimp Cabai Garam, Cumi Masak Bumbu and other light bites such as Mantau Susu, Es Pisang Ijo, Cendol Duren, Tahu Krispy. The taste is good, the seafood is fresh, the presentation is appetizing and the portion is big than what I expected. The place is nice, cozy, and it has private rooms with nice decoration. Good for private gathering. Only downside is the musholla, it is literally beside the security post 😅. It will be nice if they have musholla as good as the private room. Definitely...
