PIA Apple Pie — Restaurant in Bogor

I have known this place for about 20 years-ish, they were the first pioneer for pies esp. apple pie in Bogor. At first, as far as I know they only had apple pie and chicken pie, but now they have several other pies. The size also vary from small, medium, to large. So if you want to taste everything you can buy the small sizes.

Also since 2019 they served gelato, the name is broken gelato, why broken?, They said because the gelato was in pieces when they scoop it. The price for mix 2 flavors is 33.636 and 1 flavor is 19.090. Just a reminder they have 2 flavors of gelato contains alcohol such as baileys in the russian chocolate and rum in the tiramisu flavor. Unfortunately for me the taste was too sweet, not my cup of tea.

As for pies, I like from before until now their apple pie only. I should try their other pie flavors but I have no idea everytime I come here always drooling for apple pie. Oh they have nusantara as well as western dishes to dine in. They even have some traditional snacks/quick bites such as cireng, fried cassava, and others.

This is the recommended sweet tooth to bring back home whenever you visit Bogor city. As the name of this store, the signature menu is definitely Apple Pie. They provide it in small, medium, and large size. I tried the medium one (IDR 62,727). A thick crust pie filled with abundant soft apple along with some raisins. It could be stored for 5 days. For the serving, we could serve it in warm or cold. I like the cold one, so that I always store it inside the refrigerator. I really love the taste of the crust along with the filling that is not sour and less sweet.

If you want the personal bite version, do try Biscuit Pie. For 12 biscuit pie in 4 flavors (Blueberry, Blueberry Cheese, Nutella Hazelnut, Apple), they cost for IDR 87,272). The Blueberry and Nutella Hazelnut filling taste good! If you like more savory taste, the Blueberry Cheese might be a nice choice. The cheese flavor is more dominant. They provide Indonesia Food menu: fried chicken rice, nasi liwet, nasi timbel, mie godok, gado-gado, sayur asem, tempe, tahu, soto bening etc. They also sell 'western menu' like hotplate sausage.

Their so called apple pies are sold in the another section: mini pie, crusted pie, apple struddle and apple crumbled cake. The price of the apple pie is quite expensive. The mini pie costs Rp 9000, medium crumbled cake (which is actually small) costs Rp 39000, the large crumbled cake costs Rp 89000. The large apple struddle even more expensive, Rp 127000. They also have another pie like chicken pie.

The taste of the food is quite okay. They use fan instead of air conditioner. We can pay either cash or debit card Mandiri and BCA only. They have a small toilet inside.
