I almost never leave reviews but I had to about this place. We loved our time at the cat cafe sanur. From the moment you step in, it's very clear the owners love and respect the cats there, and provide their every need. I saw a negative comment about the rules people have to read before entering - as a cat owner myself at home, I can completely understand why all the rules are in place (plus it takes a minute total to read so you have to be a really impatient person in order to complain about it). You're entering a space where there are several cats and their space must be respected. When I went, there were two kids playing with the some very energetic and playful kitties. It made me miss my cat at home and I played with several myself. There were no time limits to be there so that was very nice. I usually have allergies to cats, but this space was kept very clean and did not smell bad - it did not invoke my allergies. It smells exactly as a cat cafe should. I am a very careful person when visiting such places. I don't visit zoos or aquariums unless the treatment of animals is ethical - and since I read reviews about the Bali zoos and elephant part being highly unethical, I did not visit those places. However, we found this cat cafe and were really happy to see how well the cats are treated here. When you meet the owner, you can tell there's a deep care for the cats there and I felt comfortable to share my adoption story from a cat cafe in Vancouver. If you are a cat person, this is a must-see place. The entrance was not hard to find at all, there are many signs to point to the right direction. We took a grab taxi to get here and had no problems entering the location in...
Read moreOne of probably the only 2 cat cafe in Bali. I have to say the experience here is so much better than the one in Ubud. If you're looking for adorable and adorkable playful kitties that is more than some kitty eyecandy, this is the place to be. They have about 11 fur babies in Total, and there's always Cats in all areas of the cafe, there's enough floof for everybody, there's always kitties around just lounging and being the majestic floof that they are. There's 2-3 persian mix, 3-4 tabbies, and a few very friendly and chill oriental shorthair mix. They are all good and loving kitties. The staff is friendly and super chill, so does the overall vibe. It's a great place to just hang out and chill with the furry critters. The drinks selection is good too, and I really recommend their Avocado milkshakes, it's really good. For only 35k entrance fee, it's definitely on the affordable side.
Protip: the kitties is mostly asleep during the day and more active in the evening. If you're looking for chill and quiet time, come during day time, if you want playful time and doesn't mind sharing the space with few other regular patron, come in the evening/night time. Either way it's a great time to spend the day. If you like cats this is place is not...
Read moreNot really a cat cafe, there are no tables or seats for guests and they don't seem to serve drinks nor food but I didn't ask either so I might be wrong on this one. (added later: they do serve coffee, tea and sodas) As a matter of fact this is a shelter. They house 27 cats at the moment, which are available for adoption. Only 7 cats got adopted since a long time. The workers take really good care of the cats, the place is clean and doesn't smell. The cats seem to be at ease and look well fed and healthy. There are clear rules like keeping your voice down and don't pick up the cats.
The only thing I don't like is that they held a sick kitten (lysteria) in the same room as the healthy ones. Although it's in a seperate very big bench, they touch and play with the kitten and afterwards play with the healthy ones. That seems very off to me. I didn't touch anything there because I have a cat back home in the Netherlands. Of course I don't want my healthy cat to become ill because of my thoughtless visit at a cat cafe in Bali.
So in general a good place but you must keep the things I wrote in concideration before visiting this place. They charge a fee of 30.000 rp per person to buy food, medicines and other necessary stuff...
