Warung Blanjong — Restaurant in Denpasar Selatan

Firstly, I am only leaving one star as I cannot leave zero stars. Do not go here if there is a large group of people. We ordered roast chicken and both of our meals were over cooked, very tough and dry. We couldn’t even eat the chicken. We arrived at least 20 minutes before a large group of people staggered into the restaurant. After complaining about the chicken, we asked for it to be replaced and waited a further 20 minutes for them only to return to us and say, “we cannot cater to your meal replacement due to the large group of people”. Following this, we asked them to remove the chicken off the bill and asked for them to bring the bill. The waitress went back to the till, then proceeded to serve the large group instead of bringing us the bill so we could leave. This customer service is absolutely appalling. Sorry guy’s but the Sapi Rendang i had last night was not good. The beef is supposed to be very tender, in fact fall apart tender. What I got, the meat was tough as an leather boot. What is worse, the cook couldn’t care less. So now the owner decides to defend the indefensible. The sapi in the sapi rendang was rubbish, but the sauce/gravy was very good. I did not day i didn’t want to pay, quite the opposite, i was hoping the cook had enough guts to come out and see what rubbish he dished out to customers. And the reason your waitress was upset was because the cook didn’t care and that was her quote. My other two guest enjoyed their food. Had a surprisingly good experience at Warung Blanjong! 🇮🇩✨

I didn’t expect to enjoy Indonesian dishes that much, as I’ve tried things like nasi goreng elsewhere before and wasn’t too impressed. But the mie goreng here completely changed my mind — it was really delicious, and the side dishes complemented it perfectly.

The only downside was when it came time to pay: we’d mentioned at the start that we wanted split bills, but it wasn’t done. So everyone had to go through the single bill and calculate their part individually, which took a bit of time.

Overall though, the food quality definitely made up for it, and I’d recommend trying it if you’re in the area! 🍜👍 #BaliEats...
