Bella Italia Sanur — Restaurant in Denpasar Selatan

1. Awesome pizza. Best I’ve had in a long time spanning Australia and definitely in Sanur. Vege and Spec pizza. Base was beautiful, toppings were gorgeous. Shame they don’t have a smoking section accross the road for the two people next to us, that did rather ruin the beautiful smell of the pizza. A little bit locally pricier, but well worth it. l Highly recommend.

2. could they make the nicest pizza I’ve had in a very long time, back to back?. NO!. What a shame. Pizza came out, after quite a wait. Ours was a half and half topping and looked good. 3 slices seemed as if they had been cut on a wet surface and were soggy wet. Our friends after confirming 3 times at order “ hot and crispy thin base, please “, was cool and soggy. Not wet like ours, just warmed through. He asked for it to be re heated. That took some negotiation. Eventually it can back and was acceptable. Ours. We didn’t eat the three and left them. They took them away and re heated them. But the magic was over by then. A) the boss wasn’t there. ( he wasn’t) B) time pressure as a few covers in and the large delivery order C) different kitchen staff and down one to do the deliveries. Not sure. Consistency is the key and QUALITY...

Like many truly beautiful beings, this place has an unprepossessing face; a modest demeanour that belies the riches within.

It was one of the handful of "Western" restaurants open during the pandemic, providing support to the residents and the staff. Quality of course suffered a little; it's a business, after all, and needs customers, who were few and far between in those times.

Nowadays Bella Italia Sanur is a fine example of the pandemic maxim to "Build Back Better". I am making my way through the menu and the food is now truly excellent however humble the dish: fine ingredients, careful and correct preparation and accurate cooking. It's almost like stepping into some of the pages of the classic Italian cookbooks (the décor complements this impression). This is obviously a labour of love for the owner, who frequently is on the floor serving and chatting with the patrons. I commend him and I strongly recommend that you do too. Great works of love should not go unnoticed...

We are visiting this restaurant because we want to meet and greet our friend from Jakarta. So I tried this restaurant for the first time.

We ordered pizza, salad, coffee, and beer. The owner is friendly and humble, the first time I met with a foreign owner that can respect the locals like us. I really appreciate it. And the staff are also helpful, friendly and always smile with the customers.

For the food, I like it, the pizza and the salad is yummy. And I really like the coffee. Overall I can give them *9,5 for the food, because I was happy with it. My tummy is also happy 🥰

The place is comfortable, not that big, but the space are enough and give us the comfort. But the parking might be a bit difficult if you bring car. But walking or scooter has no problem at all.

I would definitely come back when we are visiting Sanur again. And we would also recommend Bella Italia Sanur to our guests.
