Porchetta sambal matah for 35 K IDR
Don't get me wrong, this place is good, has great value, and is definitely worth a visit. However, this particular dish just fell kinda short. First off, the porchetta isn't the best - it hardly passes as a proper proschetta and it's a bit over salted although the nice fatty texture is still there and i love how unabashed they are about using the oregano. Second, the broth really is quite meh except for the small chunks of meat which really is delectable and the copious amounts of freshness from the spring onions. Finally, the rice really is nothing to write home about although the sambal matah is great - if only they gave more of it hahah.
Now what IS good id their mongah classic for 27 K IDR which gives you a good hotplate filled with great porkiness, rice, some veg, and an egg. One can choose either oyster sauce or black pepper and i think the meat itself is good and the overall dish quite filling considering the asking price.
I did try out their burgers about two years ago and i find them to be quite good albeit still losing out in terms of value for money compared to the mongah classic (or even their added cheese options).
Luckily this time around they started selling pork meatballs and i have to say that 12 K IDR for 2 meatballs, 1 fried meatball, 1 fried wonton, noodles, and veg is really really worth it. I was quite surprised to find the meatballs better than the fried option and even more so about how good the fried wonton was. Top it off with springy noodles better than what most others offer and really nice sambal and you've got yourself a winner. Next time i would add 2-3 wontons @ 3 K each!!!

Read moreA small legendary joint for your pork varieties. I tried the Mongah Mozzarella (try the blackpepper sauce. do not choose oyster sauce, it is too salty!) and Double Sins burger (for takeaway).
The pulled pork is extraordinary; it is flavourful, juicy, and the portion is generous.
Adding a cheese slice on a rice is a groundbreaking move. The runny sunny side up egg is the highlight. The meat on the Mongah is rather dry, but still enjoyable. The vegetables are somewhat still feels cold and hard from the refrigerator.
Tried the ala-carte Babi Crispy as well. Was hoping for some 'kriuk' skin, but there was none. The batter was overly thick, couldnt differ between the dough and the meat, tho it is crispy.
However, it was crowded and new customers kept showing up after one another, showing how families and couples loved...

Great pulled pork sandwich. 5*. No side items (French fries), just eggs, and extra bacon or cheese.
12 Mei. Used to be one of my favorite places to eat. Portion size has decreased on the pulled pork sandwich with each of my last two trips. More menu options now (rice meals), still no 'sandwich' sides (fries or potato chips). Bigger seating area. thanks
1/2019. - They are always out of bacon. And they confirmed it...
