This is my second time here. Food is classic tex-mex with the usual fare (tacos, quesadillas, chimichangas, fajitas, guacamole/salsa and chips, corona beer, etc). The menu still has a bit of variety to include pasta, burgers, and some dessert as well. I've only tried the tex-mex stuff and it is pretty good. The food is served quickly so if you're hungry, you don't have to wait long. Ambience is a little quirky. While the place is set up like a cantina, the crowd on both nights i have been here is very local and young. I believe this used to be a joint where the foreign expats in the oil industry might have hung out back in the day-just a hunch. There is live music so this is not a place for a quiet dinner. Service is good. Pleasant, fast, uncomplicated. You may have to seat yourself though. The servers don't notice people walking in the door but are attentive if you are seated at a visible table. On this night as i sit here, i am awed that the crowd is decidedly local. While Indonesia is heavily Moslem populated, this little corner flourishes where millenials in hijab are just as comfortable as the Peranakan "tai-tai" in their 50s. I also should mention that it was open mike night and some granny with a walking stick was entertaining the crowd like she owns the place. Will be recommending this...
Read moreThe food was very average compared to other Mexican restaurants I have dined in. Pretty certain that they used a mozzarella cheese instead of a more authentic blend. Very bland. Drinks are also very expensive Coke Rp40K nett. Bintang Rp72K nett for small. I hope there are better Mexican restaurants in Jakarta. I did enjoy the rice and beans; they were okay. The enchiladas, well ????? I just read some other reviews saying the food at Amigos is the best Mexican food they have tasted. My suggestion is that you need to get out more or stop posting on your friend's site to boost the ratings. I have eaten Tex-Mexican food in Mexico, San Diego, Australia, and Vietnam. The best was in Vietnam - La Fiesta, Ho Chi Minh. It was a big surprise as I was not expecting the food to be so good. I'm sorry, but I would love to rate Amigos higher, but they need to improve the quality and authenticity. Also, a revision of their drink prices would be a good idea. They are not a 4-5 star hotel. Better to have customers who buy more drinks for less, still maintain a good profit, yet walk out happy AND THEY ACTUALLY RETURN. That is the type of customer you want. Not sting them on one visit, and they...

The menu offers a wide range of Tex-Mex favorites, from flavorful fajitas and tacos to cheesy enchiladas and nachos that are perfect for sharing. The portions are generous, and the taste consistently hits the mark. Their margaritas are a highlight — strong, refreshing, and available in various fruity twists. Live music on selected nights adds to the experience, making it more than just a meal, but a celebration.
