Feel Matcha — Restaurant in Jakarta

They claim to use the grade A matcha powder directly from Kyoto, which is good. However, it seems they forgot to balance the matcha with the other components in their so-called Matcha Tiramisu. Well, I get the idea of replacing coffee with matcha. But, with only a little portion of matcha therein (as you can see in the picture), the sourness from the cream comes stronger. Hence, the creaminess is the only taste that strikes my tounge instead of the bitterness of the matcha. The Mille Crepes comes out nice, I can taste the matcha and like the crepes texture. The Matcha Choux is probably my favorite. The saltiness of the pastry mixed well with the green tea cream. The Matcha Latte for me is not that special. The Biscoff Matcha Latte is the gem because surprisingly it blends well. I love the emerald green as the cafe signature color. The presentation is neat with gold utensils. I just don't get why they have to put the paper at the bottom...

Another chic hangout place in Kemang area. There’s no parking space here so you have to park elsewhere, so I suggest to only come here with car if you are going to also visit other establishments around the area. If you come with motorbikes, I think you are OK.

I came here at 5pm ish and the place is very crowded. Well not really, but space is VERY limited and I only see no more than 10 tables. You must place your order via a website and pay online. But for some reason, Safari on my phone just won’t load the website so I cannot use the website, so they can’t entertain me. Or they just won’t entertain me I guess. I kept asking them but the staffs are just hanging around and chilling, not sure how to answer the most basic questions such as “is X still available for order?”

Mampir ke salah satu tempat baru di Kemang Timur yaitu Feel Matcha, sesuai namanya, hampir semua menu yang dijual disini adalah matcha. Tapi ada juga kok menu kopi yang nggak ada campuran matchanya. Menunya sendiri hanya terdiri dari dessert dan minuman, jadi nggak ada main course.

Tempatnya kecil dan seating areanya juga nggak banyak, di bagian depan ada beberapa bangku yang sepertinya bisa sekaligus jadi smoking area tapi karna Feel Matcha ini bisa diorder via online juga jadi area depan terkadang dipenuhi driver ojol. Parkiran pun terbatas karena hanya bisa untuk motor, kalau kesini naik mobil kayaknya cukup susah dan ribet cari tempat parkirnya. Interiornya sih bagus dengan nuansa warna hijau, cukup estetik dan menarik. Disini juga banyak stop kontak jadi cukup mendukung buat yang mau wfc-an.

Disini sistemnya pesan dulu di meja kasir dan selanjutnya pesanan akan diantar ke meja. Aku coba beberapa menu, ada matcha cheesecake (28.000), choux matcha cream (13.000), mille crepe matcha (32.000), signature matcha latte (25.000), dan purple matcha. Untuk harganya menurutku affordable banget sih karena rata-rata di bawah 30K, jadi masih ramah di kantong pelajar atau mahasiswa.

Kalau untuk rasanya menurutku secara keseluruhan matchanya kurang dominan, bukan tipe matcha yang pahit dan pekat jadi kurang terasa otentik. Beberapa menu juga ada yang lebih dominan manis. Menurutku aroma dan rasa matchanya lebih terasa di minuman daripada menu makanan. Matcha latte awalnya terasa creamy dan milky tapi lama kelamaan pahit matchanya mulai terasa, untungnya matcha latte ini nggak terlalu manis jadi aku masih suka. Untuk makanannya menurutku rasa matchanya agak tanggung, mille crepe sebenarnya enak karena lembut tapi rasa matchanya hanya terasa dari taburan bubuk matcha yang ada di bagian atas. Cheesecakenya cantik dengan layer yang menarik tapi ternyata rasanya lebih dominan keju dibanding matcha. Untuk chouxnya menurutku ukurannya lumayan besar untuk harga 13K, tapi creamnya nggak terlalu banyak dan hanya terasa manis. Agak disayangkan sih karena ternyata rasa matchanya nggak sepekat yang aku bayangkan, kalau dibuat benar-benar otentik mungkin akan lebih spesial dan terasa "feel matcha"nya tapi kembali lagi ke harga, mungkin memang ini rasa yang sesuai jika dibandingkan...
