Beautika Jakarta stands as a culinary beacon for those seeking to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Indonesian cuisine. Renowned for its authentic Manadonese fare, this restaurant has earned its reputation by consistently serving dishes that are both vibrant in flavor and steeped in tradition. Located in the heart of Jakarta, Beautika offers a dining experience that transports patrons to the spice-filled islands of Indonesia, particularly North Sulawesi, from which its culinary inspiration is drawn.

The ambiance of Beautika is one of warmth and simplicity, creating a welcoming environment that emphasizes the food's bold flavors and colorful presentation. The interior design incorporates elements of Indonesian culture, providing a subtle backdrop that complements the dining experience without overshadowing the cuisine.

Beautika's menu is a celebration of Manadonese cooking, known for its generous use of spices, herbs, and coconut milk, creating dishes that are rich, flavorful, and often fiery. Highlights include a variety of sambals, the iconic Ayam Rica-Rica (spicy chicken), and Ikan Woku Belanga (spicy basil fish), among other delicacies. Each dish is prepared with meticulous care, ensuring that patrons experience the true essence of Manadonese cuisine.

This restaurant's commitment to authenticity extends to its selection of ingredients, many of which are sourced directly from Sulawesi to maintain the integrity of its dishes. The beverage menu, featuring traditional Indonesian drinks, provides the perfect complement to the spicy fare.

Service at Beautika is attentive and friendly, with staff members who are knowledgeable about the menu and eager to share recommendations, making it accessible to both newcomers to Indonesian cuisine and seasoned aficionados alike.

For those in Jakarta seeking an authentic culinary journey through the flavors of Manadonese cuisine, Beautika offers an experience that is as rich and diverse as the culture it represents. It's a place where every meal is a celebration of Indonesia's culinary heritage, served with passion and...

Spicily flavored North Sulawesi dishes

This place is an old favorite of mine, every time I long for fresh spicy Manadonese dishes.

The taste is authentic, spicily flavored ingredients from vegetables to meat. My all time favorite is corn fritter, ayam rica a.k.a. spicy cooked chicken with tumis bunga pepaya or stir-dry papaya flower. Their fish dishes are also tasty. Beautika only serves halal food.

Beside main dishes, this restaurant also offers variety of Manadonese dessert

Once you arrive to the restaurant, you need to choose the dishes you want before you can sit. Almost all dishes are displayed behind food glass cabinet. Payment can be done after.

This time, during lunch time, I order corn fritter, stir-fry papaya leave and 2 fish dishes, along warm rice. Heaven!

Let me warn you, this place is very popular, especially during lunch time. Youโ€™d better come earlier to secure the table.

The service is quick. The dining hall is a bit dark for me, very traditional Indonesian kinda restaurant. The portion is big, one can serve at least 2 pax.

The price is ok, around Rp 100.000 per person.

The only problem here is limited parking. I suggest you to take taxi to get there during lunch time.

I always look forward to come back...

Another standout dish is the Cakalang which features with rica goreng. The tender and smoky fish, marinated in a blend of spices, creates a unique and addictive flavor profile. The fish is often shredded and served with brenebon soup, bringing together the smokiness, spiciness, and tanginess that characterizes Manadonese cuisine. The dish is a celebration of flavors, with each bite offering a delightful contrast of textures and tastes.

To balance out the fiery spiciness, Manadonese cuisine also incorporates fresh and vibrant vegetables. "Kankung" (water spinach) is a popular choice, known for its crispness and slightly bitter taste. When cooked with garlic, chilies, and a touch of lime juice, it becomes a refreshing and tangy side dish that complements the intense flavors of the main course. The combination of the spicy dishes with the freshness of Kankung provided a well-rounded dining experience.

"Kuah Asam," was also a tangy and spicy fish soup that captures the essence of the region's...
