First time eating hakata, recommended by friend. What really stood out for me was the extras. They offered us so many; such as cayenne pepper, idk gochujang paste maybe (?), green chilli, and FRIED SHALLOT. This is the first time for me eating ramen with fried shallot. I think for me who really likes ramen and indonesian food it’s kinda giving me a fusion of them. We ordered tam tam ramen, i taste the broth first without adding anything, and it was really tasty, i like it very much. Then i added the cayenne, gochujang paste (?), and the fried shallot, and i dare to say that i love the experience of it. But i think if you like the original ramen you could just eat it as it was.
For those who eats small portion, i suggest to eat the ramen for two. I did it with a friend and i was still felt very full. Oh but don’t forget to order extra chashu chicken, you wont regret it. I think the thing they need to improve is the side dish. They only had gyoza and karage, gyoza taste just okay.
Service is also nice. I need to wait for 5 waiting list, but it was so fast so you just have to wait for like 15 minutes. The waitress is very helpful and fast. OH ALSO they serve the food in the speed of light i wait for like only 5 minutes from ordering til the...
Read moreWe eventually had dinner here after previously failed to get a table because too long of a wait. This time we ordered ramens seen in pictures plus ocha. The ramen soup was very yummy; it was even yummier when we added crushed garlic and fried shallot. The noodles, slices of chicken and boiled egg were okay. The only problem was a tiny dining area. It was not even sufficient physical distance between tables. We spent around a total of 181k for two people. It is affordable, isn't it? Especially when we compare with the portion.
For the second visit, we did not have to wait because we came after lunch time. This time we ordered ramen ayam special (seen previous picture), plus ramen ayam tamtam and gyoza (seen in additional pictures). The ramen soups were delicious as usual. It was even better when I added chili oil and fried shallot. The condiments were also good. But, the gyoza was so-so.
Coming back after a while, it was not as crowded as before. I ordered ramen ayam kental. The soup never loses its wonder. This time, it was thicker and, hence,...
Read moreThis is the best tasting halal ramen place in Jakarta, but not the greatest service and eating experience in a resto, with shared table, and near to zero space between guests, privacy is the least thing that you can expect here.
Now let's talk about the menu. My regulars here are the Tsukemen, the awkwardly dipped noodles in those otherwordly umami broth is an experience i have yet to encounter in any ramen resto in Jakarta. You get two kind of broths, the dashi broth, and the chicken broth, i still don't get it why they served it separately, maybe to customize the taste.. but i always combined all of them to the larger bowl. And then you get another bowl filled with noodles (you can choose what kind of noodles to be served with Tsukemen), and then you also get a plate of condiments consist of chicken fillet, mushrooms, soft boiled eggs, and scallions.
The spicy ramen and other menus also are great tasting, but none is uber umami flavour packed like the Tsukemen. Oh and one other thing, slurping is mandatory etiquette when...
