If anybody asked me to explain what a ‘gimmick’ cafe is, I would point them to this place.
At first glance, the architecture is beautiful, and plastered on the walls it says that the place is pet-friendly, has a library, and co-working spaces. The good stops there.
The library and the co-working space is falsely advertised; you aren’t able to access either by purchasing from the cafe. It’s a paid, private space that needs to be pre-booked. There are barely any books, I’d hardly call it a ‘library’.
Coming from a coffee enthusiast, the coffee is horrible, and I’m not being snobby. I tasted the latte and americano, it tastes like it was made with either old espresso old, uncalibrated machines, or just a horrible blend. Tastes nearly identical or worse than coffee you’d get in mcdonald’s or other cheap coffee spots.
The food is disappointing, especially at the price point. The menu claims their truffle fries are ‘double truffle’; on the sauce and fries itself. The fries don’t taste of truffle at all and the sauce is a sad truffle mayo.
The chili-cheese fries were fairly good, but their ‘salsa’ was pre- packaged red spaghetti sauce.
Their tempe was so drenched in oil I completely soaked 5 tissue papers just wiping my hand after eating a single one.
The service left much to be desired. The lady was kind and friendly but the man who handled the coffee was rude and dismissive.
Overall horrible place that markets themselves as a trendy, co-working space that actually barely has anything of value. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone, in fact would tell people to steer...
Read moreIt is pet friendly cafe. There are several doggies' photos along the stairs. Good ambiance and very cozy place.
There is a small outdoor garden at the back, so even though you are inside a building/ room, you still can find it relaxing and 'breathing' like in a garden (without sunburn of course 😁). The street in front of this cafe is not crowded, so not many vehicles run n make noise.
There is a smoking room also, and it is spacious. You can close the window or open it. So even though it is in a room, but you can feel the wind like in an outdoor space, and it is in 2nd floor too.
There are VIP room and meeting room on the upper floor. Also, there are rooftop area with bean bags. But all those rooms need reservations and have minimum charge.
The service is good and the staffs are friendly. The food are tasty, but the portion are small, compare to the price.
In my opinion, it is a good place to hang out with friends or family, and even meetings and WFC, or just me time by yourself or...
Read more| Food | Crispy Tofu - Relatively crispy but tasteless; not seasoned with salt etc. Tempeh: Well prepared / fried Fish N Chips w/ Mozzarella: Do not get the hype for this to be honest. Average. Drinks: Gingerbread Latte and Lemongrass were average.
| Service | Average.
| Atmosphere | Clearly the highlight of this cafe; there were loads of greenaries and overall decor was aesthetically pleasing. Place was a tad nosier than preferred though. Place is pet friendly so that's a plus.
| Price Point | ~250k for 3 dishes and 3 drinks; relatively cheap though quality wise it's less than ideal.
| Verdict | On the fence for this; but you can probably come back for...
