super excited when we found out that there's halal chinese restaurant! although it's a bit far from my house, it's worth to try.
we ordered Lamian Sapi (hand pulled noodle soup with beef), dumplings, and stirred fried pok choy. the staff was really helpful, she gave recommendation plus reminded us that Lamian Sapi is a big portion so we could share.
Lamian Sapi was good. the broth was pretty delicious with good texture of the noodles. the noodles were made live so we could watch the noodles being made. but sadly the beef slice was a bit dry and not much in a bowl. stirred fried pok choy was an A level for me. the taste of garlic and mala suited with the soup from Lamian Sapi. i always love vegetables so pretty happy with that combination. and here, the winner of the menu we ordered..... dumplings!! wooww it tasted SOOO good 🤤 i thought i could finish the whole plate just for myself. dip it into the sauce and boom! heaven.
for drink, we tried a glass of ba bao cha. it was said that there are 8 kinds of herbs in it. at first i worried because i don't like the idea of herbs in any of drinks. but since we came from far, i thought we needed to be all out. after one sip, all my worries were gone. it was great! wow i've never had any kind of tea like that. thanks to the staff who recommended us this tea.
after all this has to be my personal best halal chinese restaurant and definitely would like to come again and try other menus (but dumplings will always be...
Read moreThis restaurant offers halal Chinese cuisine with a specialty in hand-pulled noodles. I tried their beef noodles and dumplings, and the portions were quite generous, which is great for those looking to sample various dishes. It's unique because Chinese cuisine typically features chicken or pork dishes, but here they use beef.
The noodle broth was very flavorful, although I found the beef a bit strong-smelling for my taste. They provide chili oil as a complement to the noodles, which I enjoyed. As for the dumplings, I think they could improve by adding a drizzle of oil on top to make them look more appetizing. When the dumplings arrived at my table, they appeared quite dry, which was less appealing. They also offer a dipping sauce for the dumplings, which seems to have a vinegar base and pairs well with them.
The exterior of the restaurant isn't very eye-catching, and upon entering, I felt hesitant due to the slightly unkempt...
Read moreTrying out the restaurant as per recommendation from tiktok. The beef noodle is nice, definitely not the kind of beef noodle that I ever encounter before in Jakarta. Best part of the noodle is the spring onion and coriander leaf, so please don't skip that part. For the wonton, when you bite it, there is a bit of soup and you will directly taste the lamb meat. Add the chili oil for extra kick. Lamb cumin rice, taste wise it's good however the lamb meat here is a bit chewy and the rice itself is very dry. So make sure to enjoy part of the rice which is directly below the served meat as it's absorbed the sauce. As for the service, they have very minimum staffs, but me and my friend come during non-peak lunch hour so they are able to...
