Food: 5/5 Atmosphere/place: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Recommended for: families or groups of friends who want to eat delicious seafood together
If you're trying to find fresh, delicious seafood with affordable price, cooked in an indo-chinese style, this is it. The food (especially the fish dishes) are exquisite. I had vegetables, udang rebus (steamed prawns), bawal panggang, and kerapu tim kecap. I really recommend the kerapu tim kecap (I was too immersed in eating other foods that I forgot to take a picture of it).
Many (older) reviews said that the place is dirty, so I came expecting a dirty, old, almost abandoned restaurant. But to my surprises, it's decent. I mean, I'm not expecting a seafood restaurant (especially with live fishes in its vicinity) to be extra clean. Some parts of the place is air-conditioned, and I believe they just renovated the restrooms cause it's sparkling.
The service won't be like a 5-stars fancy dining, but it's good. When you came, a waiter will take your orders. The fish tanks are what you'll see right when you enter so you can choose the fishes right away. You can choose how they prepare the fish, or you can ask how they would prepare it best. I came on a Sunday noon (around 13.00) and I believe the waiting time is okay. They don't have a printed menu, but the waiters and waitresses know the menu by heart, and I quite like the interaction.
I ate with my family, a total of 5 people, the total price was a bit less than IDR400k (I consider it as a very good deal). The place doesn't really stand out so it's easy to miss it if you use a car. I can totally see how it could be hard to find a parking spot (I was lucky). We came home with a full stomach and smile...
Read moreThey serve fresh seafood with lots of variety types, although i am not sure if some of them are legally consumable. They sell some sea creatures I have never seen before elsewhere, but maybe that's why they attract lots of people from China mainland to have a meal there. The food taste are ok..just standard taste. They have quite lots of tables until 3rd floor, they even provide VIP rooms for group and reservable, however..I don't quite like the interior arrangement and atmosphere. It's very messy all around and kind of have a funny smell for the entire floor. Price... I wouldn't say it's cheap, I think they put the originsl price slightly higher then they give u 30% discount, well that's business.. lastly..it is hard to find a parking space here, and the street has many pickpocket incidents recently, so I suggest to park on the main street of Muara Karang and walk, preferable dont carry any expensive eye catching stuff, especially branded bag.. put everything in your pocket, that's the safetiest i...
Read moreThis place so popular but i just recently know it, So i don't expect anything. The place is pretty basic indonesian seafood place if it were not 2 building merge into one and has a 3 floor full of open table for guests. Butaste of the food is good. It only have stairs so people that have to sit on wheelchair will be seated at first floor where there is no air con. The 2nd and 3rd floor is equipped with air con and more comfortable of you bring a child here. The taste of the food is mixed for me. The grilled fish is the same as other's grilled fish. But their lemon steam carp is special. Can't find'em elsewhere. Their fried (masala i think) red sauce shrimp is also special here. I've never taste this kind of dishes before. The price is worth it i think given the fresh seafood and the air con seat at the second floor. I definitely recommend this place if you're into seafood, but not recommend this place for its parking...
