Dion — Restaurant in Jakarta

Went on sunday lunch as couple. Good first impression and service at beginning. Foods are good, margarita was excellent. We've seated where the big beautiful aquarium behind and beside us. ( changed tables from small round table to bigger one due big plates and variety of our orders) And FYI that is BAD location if you wanna enjoy your foods and drinks if there are some guests with kids which keep coming to our seat's territory to see the fishes closer, REALLY ANNOYING.. from sweet silence kids to louder one ofcourse no respect as kids , banging on the aquarium's glass , poor fishies.. no staffs pay attention either.

Despite good foods and drinks..they bring our orders in 10 -15 minutes each( we clearly asked to bring all in the same time together for foods) and realized didnt get my main course (oxtail soup) after 45min because waiter did not put in a.k.a. forgot it even he already repeat our orders.

I suggest you put sign beside the aquarium to "DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS" because kids didnt know if they are not allowed to bang the glass which could harm the fishes and also dangerous for breaking the glass and cause lots of dirty finger prints on the glass. Or don't put couple without kids to sit closer to kids attraction ( aquarium with fishes) without warning.

Anyway.. we are still curious about this resto, we may comeback to know if we would get better experience in the future soonest to decide on comeback again or stop visiting. So hopefully you read this for better service and review, to make us satisfied upon visit and...

Strategic location, beautiful exterior/interior with nice view but not matched with proper service and dining experience. Making the reservation was a pain: multiple unanswered calls or not-replied whatsapp messages (event hough they were read already). They finally responded to my messages the next day after some additional messages I sent confirming my reservation status.

Food was a mixed bag: some were good (creamed spinach, grilled salmon) but the rest were so-so (ribs, bistecca pasta) or even bland (e.g. fried baby octopus).

Service was terrible! We came at around 11 and was not even full but took a long time for the food to come out and one of the items came to our table twice. Sometimes we had to repeat our orders twice. One staff took our order already then another one came asking us again what we ordered even though we told him another person took the order already. This happened a couple of times. The highlight is when I asked about the tomahawk steak to one of the staff and showed the item on the menu. He said sorry it is not available and he casually took the menu from me without asking anything. I thought he would come back and check with other staff but no. He put the menu back on the countertop. We were so unpleasantly surprised :) for the price of a fancy eatery the service was so far from satisfactory. The saving grace was the neon-colored fish in the tank we were sitting by hence I gave this review 2 stars. Otherwise, it would be a 1-star review for me. They have a lot of potential. Hope they...

For a high-class of restaurant, I'm sorry but DION Senayan Park you are a disappointment.

Reservation process definitely not professional and proper, we booked and assumed it's all clear, and turned out the table was not booked because we didn't pay for a deposit fee ( which I can confirm your admin didn't ask us to pay for it and only answered "Ok" when we want to book ) 🙂 we want to have an outdoor table, but we got indoors instead (still consider lucky to have a table too).

The restaurant is not that full and packed, but we waited for 45 minutes to 1 hour for the food to be served, and our chicken dish came out after an hour when the rest has finished the foods (so left with one person eating).

Taste wise - 1 out of 5 for all 😣 ( maybe my expectation is way too high for your class ). The steak was extremely basic, the pasta was not good (taste like Fried Kwetiaw for me), the beverages were basic too (just like a water with sugar).

Price - for the experience and the taste of foods, super not worth it. Maybe only for the environment and the place, ok (y'all pretty, for a chill evening).

Should be a wonderful Xmas dinner here, but became just an Okay dinner for us. Thank you and nice to meet you, DION.
