Yougwa Danau Sentani — Restaurant in Jakarta

It’s a Papuan-inspired seafood restaurant with a idyllic location next to the pond in Senayan Park. The ambience is pretty, the food is good too. It’s mostly typical seafood restaurant menu, nothing too extra ordinary. However, they have a few items that are typical from the eastern part of Indonesia such as papeda.

Indonesian seafood restaurants have a tendency to either overcook the seafood and makes it tough and rubbery, and/or smothering the seafood in so much rich-flavoured sauce that you can barely taste the seafood anymore.

Danau Sentani does none of that. They respect the seafood by cooking it with sauces that does not mask the seafood taste, while keeping it tender and juice by not overcooking it.

Price is very affordable as well. It was even surprisingly cheaper than what I thought considering the restaurant “vibe” and location.

Amazing food, great ambience, and top-notch service!

I absolutely loved my dining experience at Yougwa Danau Sentani in Senayan Park. Every dish I ordered was delicious. The ikan gurame goreng was perfectly crispy, udang gala bakar madu had the right balance of sweetness and smokiness, and the cumi goreng tepung was light and flavorful. The kepiting saos padang was the highlight. It is rich, spicy, and absolutely worth the mess!

To top it off, the es kelapa muda and alpukat juice were super refreshing, and of course, a cold Heineken made everything even better. The lakeside view adds a relaxing touch, making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy great food with friends or family.

Definitely one of the best spots in Senayan Park and I can’t wait...

We came here on saturday around lunch time and all the seats inside was already booked by a group, so we sat outside facing the lake. I think we were the first customer that day, we came immediately they opened by 11 am.

We ordered : Gurame bakar lemon : the muddy taste was quite strong, and I don't really taste the lemon

Udang vaname bakar rica : 8 pcs of shrimps, rica sauce was good

Tumis ganemo bunga pepaya : big portion, vegetables still fresh

Tumis pucuk labu : also big portion and very fresh
