Imperial Kitchen & Dimsum - Senayan Park — Restaurant in Jakarta

I had a disappointing experience at Imperial today. After waiting in line for about 20 minutes, it was finally our turn to order, but we were informed that all the meals we wanted were sold out (at 5.30 PM on a Sunday). I ended up choosing alternative options.

One of the staff members helped me manually input the kids' meals since I couldn’t find them in the system. I double-checked with another staff member near the cashier to ensure my order was submitted correctly and asked how to add additional order (I ordered twice with different menu).

The kids' meals arrived, and my son finished it, but my order never came. When I asked the staff about it, they claimed I hadn’t ordered anything besides the kids' meals. IT WAS INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING!!!

When I shared my experience with friends, I learned they had encountered similar issues. HEY.. If your system isn’t functioning properly or can’t handle orders efficiently, why not switch to a manual process? Hire more staff to take down orders accurately!!!

Although the manager offered a solution by waiving the charges for the soup and rice, it didn’t address the inconvenience caused. By the time this was resolved, my child was already tired and cranky from the wait.

We wanted to have dimsums for our dinner, so here we came to this Imperial outlet. We ordered dimsums and other dishes as can be seen in pictures. We liked all but tim udang sayuran (it was bland) and the filling of bakpao telur asin (it didn't taste like salted egg). What we didn't like was the services. The waiters didn't pay sufficient attention to us. For example, when the waiter brought our order, he or she didn't take the empty plates or bowls, so our table was full. We had to call him or her to clean up our table. It looked to me that the restaurant needed more waiters. They didn't pay attention because they were in a hurry. It was crowded when we came. The distance between tables was not sufficient that we felt loud around us. We spent around 378k for three of us, which was quite reasonable for that...

The restaurant just okay. The services is not that good. I have ordered some food and then came other people seating next to us then they order. Easy to guess, their food came first. We also should ask for napkin or tissue because it's not in our table on the first time and the waiters rarely paid attention to our table. In fact, there are a lot of empty table that time. I hope the food will be great but it's just okay also. The taste is not that good compare to Imperial Kitchen on the other place. I wonder if we get half portion of the food. As I remember the portion in imperial kitchen should not be like that. Too bad, I don't took picture while...
