I'm actually a regular here at Djournal Coffee Citos. I come here at least twice a week while waiting for my kids before I pick them up at school. Usually there is no problem with the food or beverages. Good quality, tasty, great service.
On 4 November 2016 around 9.00 - 9.15 am, I ordered a Roast Chicken Tomato and a cup of tea. The tea was fine, but I noticed that the sandwich looked not on the fresh side. I cut the bread it was pretty hard, and when I opened the sandwich, the veggies look shriveled and the roast chicken way overcooked.
So I brought it to the cashier/ server and try to address the issue, and she assured me that the sandwich was freshly prepared and there was no issue with it, with no apology for the inconvenience, and / or solution.
Perhaps the sandwich was fresh, but the fact that it came out hard and overcooked, it was not at all appealing to eat. So after two bites I decided to leave the full sandwich on the cashier / counter and left just to see any response. I know the cashier who had dismissed me earlier glanced at the gesture and surely knows what the issue was. When I looked at the counter again the almost in tact, overcooked, and unfresh sandwich was gone in a matter of seconds. No inquiry and no apology.
Anyway you might think I'm overreacting a little bit, but as a person who values customer service and customer orientation above anything else, this was definitely a bad experience.
I'm not asking for the sandwich to be replaced or provided some sort of refund. I just wish the cashier / servant was more sincere and apologetic, because she knows what the issue was.
Anyway, I'm sure as hell never gonna order the sandwiches here anymore. Would rather opt for the cafe across at Starbucks or Caribou Coffee in Citos for the sandwiches. The rest of the food are great though in Djournal.
Anyway, great place, great coffee, just need to brush up on the customer service more. I'm giving two stars because well, it ruined my day honestly, and you need to take a bad pill every once in a while to learn and...
Read moreI don't really like pastry, a borderline hater if you ask. But the butter croissants here by far are the most acceptable. They warmed it up before serving, and it made the texture really flaky and crunchy outside, soft inside. The green tea latte was okay, kinda too sweet for me. But nice consistency, though. The sea salt latte doesn't have the saltiness I expected to find. Was okay because it was not too sweet.
The place has a nice ambiance, not too crowded on sunday afternoon. There's no coffee-smelling room fragrance. Nice place to hang...
Read moreThe place is cozy and nice, with quite strict health protocol (seems like the table is disinfected after guest's occupation). I came during ramadhan season in pandemic, it was relatively empty so it's good to maintain physical distance. Hope they still maintain good health protocol even after ramadhan (in which more guest might come).
The coffee itself is quite good since djournal is quite well known for good coffee...
