Looking for a place that is cozy with good ambience? Confused where to go for a place with an affordable price yet awesome food?
Look no further! Gaise Brunch and Bistro is the place. My experience dining here is as good as in a 5-stars hotel. The food was very delicious, my mouth was watery even by just looking at how the others happily chew their food and also at the huge variety menu. Yes, the place was awesome even before the food is served guys!
I ordered steak and samyang chicken. The spices were very good, not too overwhelming yet very rich and well-done. The steak also cooked to my request, medium rare. Interestingly, I was able to try some of the unique drinks ;) like Korean coffee and a drink with chilly (yes chilli as in the red pepper, not chilly). I will not write how they taste, as i will leave it to you guys to try them by yourselves! but trust me they were so goood.
Above all, my favorite come to the last dish I had, the super wonderful french toast. The dish may sound simple, but the taste was very amazing. The perfect crispy and crunch of the toasted bread, the coldness and creaminess of the ice cream, and the bit sour berry very well in balancing and supporting each other. This place's french toast is one dish to die for.
The only downside to the place is they only have one store so far. Would be really great if they open many branch :D
What's the waiting for friends? Need a place to eat or drinks? Let's have an enjoyable experience in Gaise Bistro and Brunch!
P.S.: I was recommended to this place by a friend of mine, but now it become my very own favorite :D. I who live in Surabaya will definetly come to Jakarta just to visit this place again.
P.S.S.: My mouth is very watery just writing this review and remembering back my amazing...

The vibe is like casual cafe near the beach. The decoration is simple with few wall ornaments. Regardless, I would say almost all spots are instagramable.
Since the place is small and usually full during rush hour, it’s best to make a reservation before you come to this restaurant. Especially if your party is more than 4 people.
For the food, I ordered Aburi Shoyu Salmon Pasta and herbal tea.
The pasta is cooked perfectly al dente. The sauce is a fusion of eastern and western style. It’s creamy and at the same time the taste of the shoyu accentuate the Asian flavor in the pasta. I would say they nailed the fusion nicely.
One thing that disappoint me, though, the salmon in my plate was not fresh. I can smell fishiness coming from some of the chunks and the texture also a tad flaky. I ended up finishing my pasta and leaving the salmon behind for this reason.
But, un-fresh ingredients is probably just my bad luck on the day. The pasta itself is rich in flavor and delicious.
Overall, I’m giving the food a score of 3/5.
In terms of service, one of the staff sounds a little grumpy, but not impolite. I suppose he’s being that way because he was too busy handling many customers. Regardless, he got my order accurately and the waiting time was in less than 30 min (for both beverage and food). Pretty efficient in my opinion.
I will totally come again to try for the other food… perhaps sometime before or after...
Read moreWas excited to find this new pet friendly place. And they have special Christmas menu which we want to try. Upon coming there, there was 2 empty table, but not yet cleaned. So we have to wait until they cleaned it and be seated. No menu was given, the network is pretty bad, so we have trouble accessing the digital menu. After several times trying, we found that there are menu on top of the bar, just the waiters didn't give it to us.
When we are ready to order, nobody was there, only the bartender. And the waiters come and go between first and second floor. It is Saturday, not even 12pm yet, but half of the menu we want to order is not available. Including the Salmon en croute, which is one of the special Christmas menu. In the end we ordered Steak Diane, Nashville Chicken, Chamomile Tea and Iced Apple Tea.
My Chamomile Tea never came, until we finished eating. I didn't bother to double check again, since the waiters are very busy scattered all over the place. I assume the 2nd floor are fully occupied, hence the bad service.
The steak, it is a medium steak, but I don't know where all the juice went, it is very dry. The spinach has no flavor except garlicky flavor, the Diane sauce are more like simple mushroom sauce, the mashed potato has this tangy flavor which I don't like. The chicken is okay, considerably good enough to eat but that's it. Beware that the sauce is spicy.
The only plus side is they are pet friendly cafe. But probably hire more people because we find it hard to order, even got incorrect order. Turns out my tea never came since the waiter didn't put it in our order.
If asked if I will come...
