Read moreGreat Japanese family restaurant located at Restaurant Row PIM2. Served various Japanese menus from Sashimi, Sushi, Rice Bowl, Soba/Ramen, Grilled dishes, Soups to Dessert and Drinks. Plenty of choice to cater to everybody in the family.
We came twice so the food mentioned was ordered within two visits. The Salmon Sashimi On Cold Soba is also recommended for appetizer, if you want something different. For the main course, I love the Ishiyaki Beef Truffle Don which is a bowl of medium cooked beef slices with truffle sauce, onsen egg on top of fragrant and flavorful butter rice. If you are not sharing dishes, this Don is enough. The Aburi Ishikaya Beef with Foie Gras is my favourite - the thinly sliced beef is put on hot plate with the foie gras on top - beef is tender with savoury and a touch of sweet flavor. We also ordered a kind of soup, one filled with salmon and the other thin beef slices which was absolutely delish (forgot the name but you can see the photo) - the broth is yellow and creamy, tasty and very filling. The Salmon Head is also recommended as an additional dish. We also tried the Unagi Tamago which was Japanese Eel on steamed egg served in a hot plate, which is better paired with steamed rice to balance the sweet flavor of the unagi. We tried only one type of sushi which is the Salmon Sushi Roll. It came in big pieces, taste okay but I probably have too much salmon in one day so it wasn’t my favorite.
Price is okay for this kind of menu. Not cheap but not expensive either. The Ishiyaki Beef Don or Aburi Beef is priced around Rp. 80k which is very reasonable. Friendly staff and pretty quick service. Will definitely put this in our frequent to visit...
Read moreFirst of all: food quality is good, nice selection. However, service & management need urgent training & revision of their SOPS: We ordered 2 portion Salmon Maki. Only one arrived. We reminded we ordered 2 and were informed "sorry, forgot to input 2 in system". So they ordered the 2nd portion. After it took a while, we asked to cancel the 2nd portion but been informed "can't cancel - already input in the system". However, the Maki never arrived. When we asked for the check, it had 2 portion Salmon Maki on it. When we asked to remove the second portion, another staff came back with the check again and trying to bring us the missing Maki. When we mentioned that this is a joke, since we finished and already asked for the bill, they mentioned again they couldn't take it off the bill and made comments that "if you don't pay, the staff gotta pay for it". People do mistakes but that no one is able to rebate a dish from POS due to customer complaint is a big no-go...
I hope the management reads this and empowers their managers or supervisors to rebate items on guest...
