Gyu-Kaku Kamaja Social Space — Restaurant in Jakarta

Been to many Gyu Kaku branches and this one is one of the best in terms of they have an outdoor area so you might enjoy the scenery while BBQ-ing.

As one of the best Japanese BBQ in town I don’t think I need to say anything about the food, al is good. However, for the service, I think this branch should raise the bar higher. Been here with a friend and we came in around 10. Let’s say we starts around 10.10. The morning shift staff was very nice and informative, but the team who joined in the afternoon is giving us kinda attitude. They informed us about the last 15 mins to order, so we ordered our desserts, edamame, and 3 beef pots. While we are having our dessert the other staff came with the bill and tells us that we only had 10 mins to finish. So, we asked for extra time which cost us 50k per pax which totally fine so we go for it. Then for the second time he came with the new bill and tells us that we need to finish our food right away and the other kitchen staff came with our edamame.

In this case, I FULLY UNDERSTAND that the management might have strict rules towards time; but the time we visit, there are only 3 tables were occupied. I think they should be more chill about things.

But anyway, I will come back again to Gyu Kaku; my favorite branch was the one at Lotte...

Had lunch here with my office mate. It’s grilled meat with all you can eat menu. The staff so helpful, the lady that welcoming us when we arrived help us to choose the promotion, even she advice to split bill to get better deal, so nice ! The staff also on standby near our table to make sure the order delivered well. The order arrive in fair time, arround 10 minutes after we finished the order. For additional order, we can simply scan barcode and choose virtually on web. I'm a big yakiniku fan. Of course, what's there not to look forward to especially a premium yakiniku buffet. However, this has to be one of the worst yakiniku (forget whether buffet or not) ever. The marinate was super salty and untasty. You'll need to gulp ocha with every mouthful. Of all the meats we ordered (for the premium buffet), only the Gyu-Kaku karubi is edible. The tongue came as a blob and you can chew it like leather (see the two big blobs in my photo posted). Thought it might have been good value but...
