Having dined here 4 times already, my husband and I can safely say that Hanok is not only one of our all-time favorite restaurants, but it’s currently the first name that comes to mind when we think of eating out.
We tried plenty of Korean restaurants in Jakarta and abroad. In our opinion, Hanok serves not only authentic, elegant, delicious Korean food, but also wholesome meal that feels nourishing to the body. The complexity of most of the dishes and the quality of their ingredients only justify each visit—we simply will not succeed recreating them at home. Hygiene and presentation are also impeccable.
Many top Korean restaurants in Jakarta excel in hospitality that we no longer enjoy going to Chinese restaurants. Hanok, however, is definitely up there, consistently top notch. The whole staff are pleasant, not noisy and seem very well-trained. But the most special shoutout is reserved for Manager Kang, who always, without a fail, makes us feel like old-time friends visiting his own home. He is so hands-on, thoughtful and generous—he basically ruins every other restaurant for us. We love how he remembers details, pays attention to our dietary concerns and how he thoughtfully recommends and introduces his national dishes to us. We sincerely wish Hanok and all the people behind it a lasting success.

The food was good, the beef bbq / usamgyeop is nicely cooked. I find the banchan to be a bit small and little for korean senopati food standard and the lettuce amount is very little (around 4-5 only). I understand that dining here alone justifies the little banchan, but it could be better since the other restaurants would go extra miles for this. Positive side that is all banchan are tasty, i personally liked their odeng.
The servers are lacking of friendly gesture and smile and feel gloomy - do they differs treatment for locals and expatriates korean who come here? Who knows.
Calling the servers here is quite hard since i need to ring bell few times for them to come in. I have to call them for dessert too, while in other restaurants they actively offered the service to do so voluntarily.
For korean restaurants standard, i expect more for the hospitality since this is not a cheap restaurant to dine in for local standard.
Once the service has been improved, it could be...
