Initially a great location, nice looking, good location. In the back they have 4x 6seat private table with waterview. Inside seating looks ok, but felt quite unwelcome cold with the air-conditioned system.
We wanted to try some good grilled meat. We did not leave that satisfied:
we asked recommendations, but the waiter couldn't help us... There is only a few pictures for the beef section which gives unclear understanding what the differences are... There is menu items double mentioned on different sections like grilled beef patty, which is unclear and the waiter also doesnt know the difference. There is no amount of weight or portion mentioned, only a 'price'...
The Striploin is terrible. Its a waste of money and unsatisfied taste, why would you serve this bad quality beef, and still charge huge price for it (1 bad striploin for $20+/350.000) All grilled meat should be nicely grilled, not slow soft cooked with slight grill... During ordering we already mentioned to the waiter to serve the meat nicely grilled with caramalized sides but nontheless... see my picture.
We also ordered bulgabi pork, which was very good. Price ok. The 'free' side dishes are ok quality. The salad leaves very fresh. The 'hot' thea,.. is not hot but just warm. The garlic served with the meat could be nicer. They are now super fresh with almost black burn layer... slower grilling with lower heat would make such a nicer...
Read moreThe place is located at the Batavia area in PIK, they have an outdoor dining area where you can view the bay area. We came during lunch so the restaurant have less guests and it was quiet which is nice (I've passed by during night time which is peak hour). We sort of over ordered ☺ We ordered; galbitang soup, bossam, bibimnaengmyeon(cold noodles) as well as 3 bbq dish; samgyeopsal, yangnyeom tosisal, usamgyeop. The bbq dish is cooked in the kitchen, as they don't provide bbq at the table. Bossam: The bossam was perfectly tender and incredibly soft. Galbitang: Excellent broth and fall-off-the-bone meat, making it both comforting and delicious. Cold Noodles: perfectly chilled, sweet and fresh with a hint of spicyness. Topped off with crisp and fresh radish. BBQ meat: The samgyeopsal, tosisal and usamgyeop are nicely grilled. With both samgyeopsal and tosisal being tender. The usamgyeop was also great with a bit of sweetness, though due to a lot of fat its does tend to be on the oilier side. Banchan: A fantastic variety of side dishes with unlimited refills, including 2 types of kimchi, fishcakes, 2 pancakes and more. Freebies: Free iced corn tea. Fre snacks to bring home, also free toppokki. Complimentary iced americano and ice cafe latte and delicious bungeoppang with mung bean filling perfect...
Read moreKorean barbeque within the vast PIK area that has thousands of restaurants and bars, specifically nearby to the Pantjoran area. They have indoor and outdoor seating each with their own pros and cons. Outside seating is facing the ocean or river I was not sure but it looks beautiful. The front of the restaurant also has outdoor seating which faces the walkway if you like people-watching. I believe you can smoke on outdoor seating. The inside seating is decorated nicely with aircon blasting ensuring a cool dining experience. We booked a room that can fit around 10 pax that comes with karaoke too! You can order a la carte dishes and also Korean BBQ, and if you don't like the smell of it you can ask them to cook it for you. The a la carte dishes like jajangmyeon and pancake are average, the bbq is decent and the banchan (side dishes) are great. The selling point is the service, the private room with karaoke and the no smell! Food - 7 Service - 9 Vibe -...
