Holy Smokes Slow Smoked BBQ — Restaurant in Jakarta

We came to this resto on late lunch time, and the dining area still almost full. The interior was homy, equipped with several game board such as dart game, soccer table game and decks of cards : uno, domino, blackjack etc. It's a family restaurant and you could find kids were running around while elder people enjoy eating and talking. We ordered cowboy family package for 4 pax. It served in a tin tray on a gigantic portion. We believed that it could only finished by 5 person. But at last the 4 of us could finished it. Why? The Smoky Wagyu Brisket were delicious. The Southern Style Beef Ribs were delicious. The BBQ Chicken were delicious. They are all so tender and kinda melt in our mouth. The homecut fries, the green salad and mac and cheese were also delicious. It's gone in 30 minutes. Aaaah the entreé we chose, the portobello fries with garlic alioli were yummy...

This review is for the food and atmosphere not the service. Pro: Good Service. Cons: Meat quality was just average. Portions were smaller than Western places like Outback. I ordered brisket sandwich (120.000)? which came with fries, it was very small compares to other Western restaurants I ate before. Ordered fat brisket and with 2 sides. (340.000)? Only three thin slices of brisket and very small sides of mac n cheese and coleslaw. 2 drinks, too sweet. Total ard 540.000? Service tax and local tax add up to over 20%. Wish there is tip service that is voluntary , no choice. Better go Outback Steakhouse or Brazil buffet place if you want your money’s worth...

This is the place for people who understand how meat should be seasoned. Brisket was excellent; the lean one still has just a thin sliver of outer fat and that protects the meat juice so that the slices were not dry when served. The meat tasted perfect when drizzled with the smoky barbecue sauce. Just perfect! This could be one reason why meat may become comfort food. The fries had skin on, so as to show they were not pre-frozen. Plain, yet flavorful. Coleslaw, mac and cheese, and tres leches cake can...
