Kopi Oey Melawai — Restaurant in Jakarta

One of the iconic coffee shop in Melawai area especially Blok M. It was close to favehotel and in front of blok M plaza. This coffee shop is quite old and still using some old decorations to make it more authentic and bring more old feeling to the customers.

Their store actually on the second floor and can be reached using escalator. They have 2 kind of room, the inside one with air conditioner and the outside one without air conditioner for smoking area. Their smoking area quite big enough. A lot of people went here to enjoy the ambience, coffee, food, and also working. They sell some old kind of food but delicious, even when you see the menu, they still use old times pronounciation.

We order black coffee and also ginger with grass jelly and ice cubes. It taste so good, especially in a sunny days. For the price is still cheap enough and also the food and drink are served fast, so it's good enough if you have less time for lunch or dinner.

First and last time I will come here. When I entered the restaurant there were two groups who had finished eating and drinking, I sat down and ordered drinks and snacks. From being in a good mood chatting to being in a bad mood waiting for the order to not come out. The restaurant wasn't busy and we ordered drinks and snacks which was easy to do. Twice I stood up and looked at the waiter who was giving a briefing but was told to wait a moment, once I approached the cashier and was told the drinks were being delivered. I came back and found it delivered to the table across from me who had just ordered. I waited an hour from sitting on the sofa to find my order had not been entered by the waiter and just apologized with a laugh :). When I wanted to cancel it, the waiter said it had already been entered. The drinks came 10 minutes later and didn't taste good, we didn't touch the snacks because we felt disrespected. came to this restaurant at lunch time. the restaurant atmosphere is quite pleasant, like going back to the past. ordered Hainanese chicken rice which tasted so-so and duck rice which came quite late with small pieces of duck and its taste was so-so. fortunately helped by the teh tarik drink which was quite delicious. for the service was not fast enough, we asked for help to clean the table that we would use, but it was not cleaned. hopefully the service and taste of the food can be...
