Nestled in the bustling heart of the city, Claypot Popo Restaurant is known for its authentic and comforting claypot dishes. Among the many offerings, the Garlic Beef Misua in a Hot Claypot is a standout dish that embodies the essence of home-cooked comfort with a touch of culinary finesse.

Upon arrival, the dish comes sizzling hot in a charming claypot, keeping the contents warm throughout your meal. The aroma of garlic and beef is immediately enticing, drawing you into its savory embrace. The broth is rich and well-seasoned, with a depth of flavor that speaks to hours of careful preparation. It's clear that quality ingredients and time-honored techniques are at play here.

The beef is tender and succulent, each piece infused with the earthy goodness of garlic and the robust flavors of the broth. The misua noodles, typically delicate, are perfectly cooked and absorb the broth beautifully, carrying its delicious essence with every bite. The garlic does not overpower but rather enhances the overall profile of the dish, providing a harmonious balance that keeps you coming back for more. Dont forget to add a glass of half boiled eggs that makes the dish more elevated.

Service at Claypot Popo is attentive and friendly, contributing to a dining experience that feels both special and homely. The ambience of the restaurant invokes a sense of nostalgia, making it a perfect spot for both family gatherings.

In conclusion, the Garlic Beef Misua in Hot Claypot at Claypot Popo Restaurant is a must-try for anyone looking to indulge in a hearty and flavorful meal. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a regular patron, this dish promises to deliver comfort and satisfaction, a true testimony to the enduring legacy of...

tiny place, huge flavor!

the location is around blok M so you can find it quite easy. it's on the second floor and the seats are tiny tables with tiny chairs (the kind that has no place to rest your back).

but it was full and lively. the staffs are helpful and not rude at all.

the price is affordable and definitely one of the best food in blok m that's totally worth the hype and not overpriced. the beef cah garlic was definitely my favorite! they made the rice like a fried rice and topped it with these delicious slices of beef and starch broth thingy. add some chili oil and you'll have one of the best meal of all time!

the second one I tried is the one topped with raw egg. even if the egg is raw it wasn't fishy at all. and the rice at the bottom got a bit burnt by the hot claypot which is pretty damn good.

for the misua salted egg, it was not the best tbh. the salted egg is not one of those creamy and gooey salted egg sauce. instead it was quite oily because they use real salted egg and just tossed it to the wok I assume. taste salty like real whole salted egg and a a bit too oily for my liking.

overall, they taste like grandma's cooking. but if you don't like starchy broth, you may not like the texture tho. so the safest one is the beef cah garlic one. and I would definitely...

Hidden Gem Alert: Claypot Popo

If you’re a fan of comfort food with a nostalgic touch, Claypot Popo is definitely worth the hunt. And I mean that quite literally—this spot is a true hidden gem. From the street, it’s almost invisible, disguised behind a simple green door that gives no hint of the cozy experience inside. But once you step through and head upstairs, you’ll find a surprisingly spacious dining area that feels like a trip back to a 90s Chinese eatery—warm, slightly retro, and full of character.

I tried their signature dish, Claypot Siram Telur Mentah Ayam, and it did not disappoint. The portion was just right—not overwhelming, but still satisfying. The claypot came piping hot, with a raw egg cracked on top, slowly cooking as it soaked into the savory rice and tender chicken. Pro tip: add a spoonful of their chili oil—it elevates the whole dish with a perfect kick and extra depth of flavor.

For sides, I went with the bakso goreng (fried meatballs), which were also tasty—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. But let’s be clear: the claypot is the star of the show here.

Whether you’re here for the food, the nostalgic vibe, or both, Claypot Popo is a spot you’ll...
