Kaya Tiam at Blok M has quickly become a viral hotspot, drawing crowds from all over the city. Located conveniently near the parking area and right next to The Misoa Story, itâs hard to miss with its vibrant atmosphere and long lines of eager customers. The buzz alone makes it feel like a must-visit, especially for fans of nostalgic kopitiam-style dining.
The menu offers classic comfort food and drinks youâd expect from a modern kopitiam. While the presentation is charming, the flavors were a bit on the average side. For those who have experienced places like Pappa Jack or more established kopitiams, the taste here might not quite hit the same mark. That said, it still delivers a decent experience for casual meetups or a quick bite in the middle of the Blok M crowd.
The indoor area could use some improvement in ventilation, as the space felt warm and slightly humid during our visit. There was also a noticeable scent of cooking oil that lingered in the air. Still, the overall vibe is cheerful and energetic, and the staff works efficiently to manage the rush. Itâs a fun spot to check out if youâre curious about the current hype â just manage your expectations on the taste and...
Read moreas someone who loves going to kopitiam (both the authentic and modernized style), i tried this seemingly to be new, modern kopitiam around blok m / melawai area. although this kopitiam is not even close to the OG ones, i still wanted to try eating here. went on monday around 11am so it was not crowded at all.
ordered Teh Ais, Kwetiaw Telor, and Kaya Butter Toast (wheat bread, single portion). total was 88k idr. the foods came rather quickly in less than 10 mins.
did not expect too much at first, but turns out the kaya toast tasted fine enough! it has quite plenty of butter in the slices. although the kaya spread was not that strong, but it was acceptable! the kwetiaw telor, too, was good enough. the portion was just fine, a bit smokey, the noodles were not too soft either. however for the tea, it felt just like an instant milk tea. should have tasted better.
do i recommend this place when youâre going to blok m? yes, it gives a new considerable choice if youâre going to blok m for the foods. however, i think the seating capacity is a bit too small, so avoid going on rush hours...
Read morelocated in the block m area, precisely in the alley behind the Pasaraya building for us teenagers in the 1980s which was a hits mall at that time. currently along the road is used for a restaurant area that looks tempting to the tongue and is suitable for relaxing and gathering with friends and family. the plan for breakfast turned into brunch because of the long wait for the food to be served even though it was only complete toast so that when it arrived at the table the bread, eggs were 1/2 cooked and the hot coffee had started to change to room temperature. I ordered 2 fried kwetiaw but only 1 was served and almost 15 minutes for the 2nd order to be served. I also asked for chili sauce first before it was given and I had almost finished 1/2 of the plate before it was delivered, I was forced to eat it because I was afraid it would get colder. the taste like most coffee shops but for me the seafood kwetiau with a price of Rp.55,000 didnât worth it to buy again. thumbs up for the cleaners who were alert and immediately cleaned up the remaining garbage on the floor...
