Maison Pierre — Restaurant in Jakarta

Super excited when I saw this place! They have tons of pastries, cake as well as gelato. The difference between this branch and the other branches is that this is a bistro, so they served food not only baked goods.

All the staffs and the owner are very welcoming & friendly, ensuring everything is well with the guests.

I tried their cheese brulee, salted caramel eclair and their tiramisu gelato. Man their tiramisu gelato was to die for, it is 50k per 100 gram. You can taste a hint of rum flavor, it is not too dense and really enjoyable. Like you cant stop eating it.

Their salted caramel eclair was also really good, though the cereal bits was soggy and no longer crunchy. Salted caramel was not too salty but the eclair was very soft with cream fillings inside.

The cheese brulee was waaaay too sweet for me. The sweetness hits you right after you chew it a couple seconds. Love the texture of the cheese brulee, although again their brulee on the top was not as crispy as I would expect a brulee to be, it was more of the taste rather than the texture.

The taste was okay but the service was very lacking, we only needed 10 minutes to wait for the kids to eat the cake. We didn't intend to sit there long, the cafe was quiet and we were the only customers. We ate small peanut snacks while waiting for them to eat. Then the waitress came and told us that we were not allowed to bring food from outside. We had heard her. When we wanted to put peanuts in, the waitress reprimanded us a second time, we are not deaf, and I think it was too much to reprimand us twice just for a small packet of peanuts that we had already brought. The staff is nice and I like the food but I was disgusted to find that there were multiple ants crawling in the food container box that the food was in. I believe these ants were from the store because the box was sealed.

I went back to the store with the pastry and showed them the ants and a video of the ants. They offered to replace it but I declined because of how disgusted I was. I asked for a refund and they said it wasn't possible because it was over two days since I bought it. I don't understand how there is a two day limit for returning a product infested with ants but I didn't...
